To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN J. I-Irrorrooon, a citizen of the United States, residing at Harvey, in the .county of Cook, State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Lavatory Pumps and Disinfectors; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a lavatory pump and disinfector.
An object of the invention resides in the provision of a device by means of which the refuse may be blown from a lavatory when the latter becomes clogged and by means of which the air adjacent the lava tory will be saturated with a disinfectant.
A further object of the invention resides in the provision of a. device which will be lnexpensive to manufacture and easy to operate.
With these and other objects in view, such as will appear as my description progresses, my invention comprises the combination and arrangement of parts as set forth in and falling within the scope of the appended claim.

Referring to the drawing by reference characters wherein like parts are indicated by like characters throughout the several views:
In the drawing, I have illustrated the device as consisting of a casing 1 which is divided into two compartments 2 and 3 by a horizontal wall 4, the uppermost compartment 2 serving as a disinfectant reservoir and the lowermost compartment 3 as an air reservoir. This casing 1 is of cylindrical formation. Secured to one side of the casing 1 by means of brackets 5 is a pump which includes a cylinder 6 and a plunger 7. This cylinder communicates with the air reservoir 3 at 8 and a valve 9 is interposed between the cylinder and the air reservoir so that the air, after having been com pressed in the reservoir, will be prevented from escaping by way of the pump. This valve 9 is located in a nipple 10 which is provided with right and left hand threads on its ends so that it may be removed should it become desirable. Extending from the upper end of the air reservoir 3 is a rigid angular pipe or elbow 11 which is provided with a manually operable valve 12. Removably mounted on this pipe or elbow 11 is a flexible hose 13, the hose being secured to the elbow by a screw threaded connection 1 1. A threaded hollow shank 15 is mounted in the other end of the hose 13 and detachably engaged with this shank by means of a threaded socket 16 is a concavo-oonvex cup 17. I wish to here state, however, that the form of this cup may be changed and that it may be replaced by a nozzle should it become desirable. The disinfectant reser voir 2 is provided with a removable plug 18 so that it may be filled and it is further provided with a nozzle 19 in which is located a manually operable valve 20. The nozzle 19 extends from the casing 1 in the same direction as does the elbow 11. Mounted in the top 21 of the casing is a needle valve 22, which extends vertically within the reservoir 2 and is provided with a point 23. This point 23 is adapted to seat in an aperture 24 in the wall 4 and is adapted to be lifted therefrom by the rotation of the valve 22 and by virtue of the screw threaded connection 25 between the valve and the top 21 of the casing.
In operating the device the reservoir 2 may be filled with a disinfectant and the valves 12, 20 and 22 closed. The pump may then be operated to compress air within the reservoir 3 and the pressure will be indicated by a suitable gage 26. After the air has reached the proper pressure the cup 17 may be placed over the lavatory and the valve 12 opened. The pressure of air will force the refuse from the lavatory and effectively clean the same. At the same time the valve 22 may be operated to permit communication between the air reservoir 3 and the disinfectant reservoir 2 and the valve 20 opened. The air pressure will force the disinfectant from the reservoir 2 and the nozzle 19 and saturate the air adjacent the lavatory with a disinfectant.
From the foregoing description it will be readily seen that I have provided a simple and efficient device by means of which the refuse may be positively and. conveniently lower compartment,
forced from a lavatory and I have provided it with a disinfectant distributing device.
- While I have illustrated and described a particular embodiment of my invention, it has merely been for the sake of convenience and I do not wish to be limited to that particular embodiment as it is obvious that numerous changes may be made in the details of construction Without departing from the spirit of the invention or exceeding the scope of the appended claim.
