FOLDING FRUIT-STAND.
Application filed October 9, 1916.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, lVLmroN S. SABEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Milwaukee, county of Milwaukee, and State of lVisconsin, have invented new and useful Improvements in Folding Fruit- Stands, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in that class of folding fruit stands, for which Letters Patent of the United States, No. 914606 was issued to John H. Sabo, March 9, 1909. By the device shown in said patent three separate receptacles 11 were shown one above another, which receptacles were first adapted to be removed when the frame was folded rearwardly, as indicated by dotted lines in one of the figures. By the present improvement a single receptacle only is used, and this receptacle is supported upon two inclined end bars which are located near the upper end of the foldable frame, and both of said end bars are provided with recesses adapted to engage pins projecting from the sides of the vertical bars, whereby the frame is prevented from being folded, said inclinable bars serving the two-fold purpose of supporting said receptacle and preventing the device from being accidentally folded from the position shown in Figures 1 and 2 to that indicated in Fig. 3.
My invention is further explained by reference to the accompanying drawing, in which- Fig. 1 represents a perspective view of the device, with the receptacle supported upon said inclinable end bars.
Fig. 2 is a vertical section, drawn on line 2, 2 of Fig. 1, and
Fig. 3 represents the device as folded, preparatory to being shipped or stored away for future use.
Like parts are identified by the same reference numerals throughout the several views.
1 represents the receptacle which is supported upon the two inclinable end members 2. The end members 2 are each provided with a plurality of recesses 3, which recesses are adapted to engage the later- Specification of Letters atent.

ally projecting pins 1 and 5, said pins being permanently connected at each end of the device to the vertical members 6 and 7. The inclinable end members 2 are each pivotally connected at their lower ends by the pivot 8 to one of the vertical corner standards 9.
The central standard 7 is pivotally connected with the horizontal end members 10, 11 and 12 by pivotal bolts 13, while said vertical corner posts or standards 9 are pivotally connected with said horizontal members 10, 11 and 12 by pivotal bolts 141, 14, said horizontal members 10, 11 and 12 being pivotally connected at their opposite ends with the vertical standard 6 by pivotal bolts 15, 15, 15. The inclina-ble members 2 are preferably connected together by the horizontal members 16, 16, 16 said members 16 being permanently connected with said inclinable members by rivets 17 of ordinary construction.
The front corner posts 9 are preferably connected together by a plurality of hori zontal members 18, 18, 18, which members 18 are also permanently connected at their respective ends with said corner posts or standards 9 by a plurality of rivets 19, 19, 19. The rear or longer corner posts or standards 6 are connected together by a plurality of horizontal members 20, 20, 20, and said members 20 are permanently connected with said corner posts or standards by riv- 811$ 21, 21, 21.
Preparatory to folding my device the receptacle 1 is first removed when the upper end of the inclinable end members 2 is raised and thrown forwardly, when all of said bars and posts are inclined forwardly as indicated in Fig. 3, whereby said device may be retained in a compact condition preparatory to being stored or shipped.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
In a device of the described class, the combination of a plurality of vertical front, rear, end and corner standards, a plurality of horizontal front, rear and end mem bers connected together by pivots, two in clinable end members each provided upon In testimony whereof I affix my signature 1n the presence of two witnesses.
MARION S. SABEL.
its lower edge with recesses, said inclinable end members being each pivotally connected at its lower end to the front corner standards, and adapted when inclined rearwardly to perform the two-fold function of supporting a receptacle and locking said folding members together.
