Be it known that I, FRANK P. MAZZEI, a citizen of the United States, residing at Petersburg, in the county of Dinividdie and State of Virginia, 'have invented a new and useful Sterilizer for Barbers Appliances; and I dohereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to a new and useful apparatus for sterilizing various appliances, such as'towels and the like and disinfecting barbers instruments, thereby insuring` sanitation.
One of. the vfeatures of the invention is the provision of sliding receptacles having holders therein forthe reception of the vari,- ous barbers instruments.` a
Another feature of the invention is the provision of disinfectant chambers in communication with eachother, one of which is provided with meansof communication with said instrument holding receptacles, whereby the fumes of the disinfectant are applied The other disinfectant with means of communication to a shaving towel compartment for applying disinfectant to the shaving towels.
Another feature of the invention is the provision of means for carrying the fumes from the disinfectant chamber to the manicuring instruments, which are received by a suitable receptacle.
Another feature of the invention Vis the provision of suitable receptacles for the reception of shampoo, steam and hair cloths or towels.
\ In practical elds the details of construction `.may necessitate alterations, falling within the scope of what is claimed.
The invention comprises further features and combination of parts, as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawings and claimed.

1 designates the casing having hot water receptacles 2, in the upper portion of which brackets 3 are provided, for the support of a perforated sheet metal 'plate 4. This sheet metal plate 4 divides the hot water chamber or receptacle into an upper receptacle 5, for the reception of towels to be steamed, which are used for steaming the face prior to massaging. The receptacle 5 is provided witha hinged closure 6. The hot water chamber has in communication therewith the usual water gage 7, which is located upon the eX- terior of the casing 1. Below the hot water chamber or receptacle is a heating chamber 8, in which the usual burner 9 is arranged, which is provided with a suitable connection l0 including a valve cock 11 for connection to any suitable gasl supply (not shown). The hot water chamber is also provided with a suitable connection 12 including a valve cock 13 for connection to a suitable water supply (not shown). A suitable valve cock 4 is connected to the water chamber, whereby the barber may obtain hot water for various purposes in conducting his Work in behalf of the patrons.
The casing 1 is provided with partition walls 15 and 16, between which and the walls of the hot water chamber air spaces 17 are provided, in which the air may become heated from the hot water chamber. Between the front and rear walls of the casing adjacent the front and rear walls of the hot water chamber are air spaces 18 and 19, the heated from the heat of the hot water chamber. The walls l5 `and 16 also divide thel casing, so as to provide the compartments 2O and 21. In the compartment 21 guides 22 and 23 are provided for guiding and supporting' the receptacles 24 and 25, which are perforated as shown at 26, and in which various holders are arranged for holding the barbers tools or in- These receptacles 24 and 25 are received through the opening 27 of the casing. Adjacent the lower portions of both of the compartments 2O and 21 are additional compartments 29 and 30 having guides 31 for guiding drawers or receptacles 32 and 33 which are designed to contain disinfectant material, such as formaldehyde. The iipperwall'of each of the compartments 29 and V3 0 is provided with 'perforations 34, through which the fumes from the disinfectant material pass into the dry air chamber 35. Leading from the dry air chamber 35 of the compartment 29 is apipe or tubing 36, rising vertically adjacent one wall of the compartment 20, and projecting laterally from the tubing or pipe 36 are T-shaped tubes or pipes 38 and 39 extending laterally and over the receptacles or drawers 24 and 25, there being perforations 39 in the T-shaped pipes or tube, for projecting the fumes from the disinfectant material down upon the barbers instruments or or drawers 24 and 25. vExtending from the dry air chamber 35 of the compartment 30 and extending laterally and rising vertically adjacent one wallaof the compartment 21 is a pipe or tubing 40, the upper portion of which terminates in a T-shaped part 41 hav-k ing perforations 42, for conveying the fumes from the disinfectant of the receptacle in Ythe compartment 30 down upon the shaving towels in the compartment 21. The compartment 21 is provided with longitudinal bars 43, for the support'of the shaving towels. A suitable closure or door 44 is hinged to the casing 1 for closing the compartment 21. The dry air chambers 35 are in communication by virtue of the pipe or tubing 45, which passes through the heating chamber, and extending downwardly from this pipe or tube 45 is a tube or pipe 46, the lower end of which is provided with a transverse portion 47 having perforations 48, forconveying the fumes from the disinfectant down uponV the manicuring tools or instruments (not shown), which are designed to be carried in the drawer or receptacle 50, which is received upon and supported by the guides 51 in the lower portion of the casing 1.y

Extending from the hot air spaces upon each side of the hot water chamber are pipes 57 and 58, which extend open into the compartments 29 and 30, under the disinfectant containing drawers or receptacles 32 and 33, so as to keep the disin fectant well heated by hot dry air from the dry air spaces upon each side of the water chamber. ,Y f

The disinfectant containing. drawers or receptacles are provided with suitable'fas teners or catches 66, so as to hold said re ceptacles in place.
Each of the receptacles 24 and 25 is pro-Y vided with a clip 67 for grasping'.V the handle of a brush anda portion of a comb, and also provided with a socket 68 for the reception of a portion of the head of the brush. Rising upwardly from the'bottom of each drawer 24l and 25 opposite the end whiclrliolds the cup is 4a three legged bracket 72 provided with Uf shaped extension clamps 73, which hold suitable razors, the lower ends of which are received by the arched clamps or sockets 74. Between the extension clamps 73 the handle ends of the scissors are clamped, while the ends of the blades Vof the scissors are received in the Ufsliaped clip 7 5. Also arranged in each drawer or receptacle 24 and 25 is a bracket 77 havingy a clip 78 for a hair dusting brush, and provided with a U- shaped clip 79 for the shaving brush. The bracket 77 is also constructed with the clamps 80 for receiving between them the clipping jaws of a pair of clippers, a portion of theahandleof whichl is clasped in the clip 81. One end wall of each drawer 24 and 25 is provided with a loop 82 and the U-shapedclasp or clamp 83 for holding a caustic stick. Upon one side of each drawer or receptacle 24 and 25 is a loop'85 for holding a pair oftweezers.`
.The invention having been set forth,- what is claimed as new and useful is 1. In anY apparatus for sterilizing bar- @entre heat chamber, a compartment onV each side of said chamber, means articles in the compartments, mixing chambers in the compartments below said supfastened at 7 0.V
to support barbers porting` means, disinfectant containers in the mixing chambers, tubes leading from the upper part of the heat chamber and communicating with said mixing chambers whereby the heat may surround the containers and cause the liberation of disinfecting, fumes from the disinfectant, and means for conveying the disinfectant fumes to the articles and spraying said fumes on said articles.
2. In an apparatus for sterilizing barbers articles, a casing, a central heat chamber therein, a compartment on each side of said chamber, means in the upper part of said compartments to support barbers articles, disinfectant vaporizing chambers,
tube extendlng downwardly through the heat chamber and terminating in a spray nozzle therebelow.
