IMPROVEMENT IN HINGES.
Specication forming part of Letters Patent No. 122,559, dated January 9, 1872.
SPECIFICATION.
I, JOHN DAVID BRWNE, of Madisonville, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio,have in vented a new and useful Improvement on the Hinge for which Letters Patent No. 106,315 were granted August 16, 187 0.
The nature of the improvement consists in making inclines on the bearings oi' the hinge to obtain a gravita-ting and rising motion.
The following is a description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying draw ing making part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the hinge. Figs. 2 and 3 are transverse sections.
A is one plate of the hinge, having the knuckle a set centrally, to be used right or left, provided with the bearing b. Above the bearing han opening, c, is made in the plate A of sufficient size to admit the socket-knuckle d on plate B to pass through and Work freely. B is the other plate of the hinge, having a hol- 10W or socket-knuckle, d, to ft on the knuckle a of plate A.
