quitos may be excluded without interfering y with the passage to the interior of the crib of air as the crib is swung.
A further object of my invention is to4 provide a crib in which the springs for supporting the mattress will be protected by screening, the dlsposition of the screening .being such that the springs in use will not injure the screening material.
A further object of my invention is to provide a crib with side doors and means for detachably supporting the doors in the raised or open position.
The novel features of my invention are hereinafter fully described and claimed.'
In' the drawings which illustrate the preferred embodiment of my invention,
Figure l is a perspective view of my imr proved swinging crib, one of the doors being shown in the open position and a portion of the other door being broken away.
F ig. 2 is a cross section Vof the frame, thev doors being closed and the supports removed. f l
Fig. 3 is a horizontal section of the crib. Similar reference characters designate similar parts in the different views. Y
l is a rectangular open frame the two side openings of which are adapted to beA closed respectively by doors 2 to the upper edges of which are affixed hinges 3 secured to the frame.
At opposite ends of the frame l are' secured flexible swinging supports, such as chains 4, the upper lends of which may be supported by any suitable means, not shown.
The lower ends of the chains are bifur- Specification of Letters Patent.

cated and each armA thereof has secured to it short chains 5 having hooks 6 adapted to releasably engage eyes 7 provided two on the outer side of each door 2. When the hoolrs 6 are engaged with the eyes 7, the doors will be held in'the open position in which one of the doors is shown in Fig. l.
To hold theV doors closed, they may be provided each with hooks 8 adapted to releasably engage screws 9 mounted in the frame below the doors.
.Across the open bottom portion of the frame ll extend springs 11 adapted to supporta mattress, lnot shown. n
Screens' 12 cover each of the doors respectively, and screens 13 cover the end and Ytop and bottom open portions of the frame l. The screen over the bottom portion is disposed below and out of contact with the springs 1l, so that while insects are excluded from lpassing into the crib between the springs ll, the springs will not contact with or injure the screen.
It will be obvious that be either retained open or closed. By completely screening the open portions of the frame, and suspending the frame so that it the doors 2 may may be swung, the air will have free cir-v culation through the crib without the occupant being annoyed withfinsects.
I do not limit my invention to the struc l ture shown and described, as modifications, within the scope of the appended claims, may be made without departing from the vspirit of my invention.
Having thus described my invention,
what I claim and desire to secure byfLetters Patent, is:- K s o l. A crib comprising aY frame having a side opening and a door hinged at itsupper n edge to the frame at the upper side of the side opening, swinging supports for said frame, and a member carried by one of said supports and having a hook for detachably engaging the door tohold it in the raised openv position. p
2. A crib comprising a frame having a side o-pening and a mattress support disposed horizontally with its upper surface in theV plane of the lower side of said opening, a swinging support for said frame, a
door hinged at its upper edge to said frame naine to this specification in presence of two for closing said opening and adapted to be. subscribing Witnesses.
swung, when opened, to a substantially veri w i vtical position, andnieans attached to said ABRAM L' BOCE' 5 support fol releasably engaging said dooi` Witnesses:
to hold the door in the open position. WARREN D. HOUSE, In testimony whereof l have signed my R. E. HAMILTON.
Copies of this patent may be obtained for Afive cents each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents.
