REGEP'IACLE-SUPPORTING FAUGET ATTACHMENT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented J an. flit, 19ft.
Application filed June 2, 1916. Serial It 0. 101,374.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, COLIN MANN, a citizen of Great Britain, residing at-Boothbay Harbor, in the county of Lincoln and State of Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Receptacle- Supporting Faucet Attachments,,of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements in faucet attachments adapted to support receptacles for receiving the discharge from the faucet. It is adapted to be readily placed in position and removed from the faucet. It is designed to provide an attachment which, while readily removable, so conforms to the curved contour of the faucet that it always automatically maintains its position when in use.
In the drawings herewith accompanying and making a part of this application Figure l is a side elevation of a faucet with my attachment in place thereon, and Fig. 2 is a top plan View of the attachment.
In said drawings 1 is a faucet of the usual construction having an enlarged curved valve seat containing section 2 and depending nozzle 8 curved downwardly to a sub stantially vertical position. The faucet may vary in shape and in itself forms no part of my invention.
The attachment comprises sides 4 curved to conform to the enlarged section of the faucet, a vertically and transversely curved bearing 5 to rest upon the downwardly curved nozzle of the faucet and straps 6 to rest up against the underside of the faucet behind the enlarged section thereof. The attachment is provided with a central opening 7 which should be large enough, when the attachment is turned up, to be passed back over the enlarged section of the faucet. If desired, the attachment may be made of a somewhat flexible substance which may be sprung slightly to facilitate placing the attachment in position. The straps 6 may be made integral with the main part of the at tachment or may be connected by a link 8 to facilitate the manufacture of the attachment. The attachment is provided at the front end with an upturned hook 9 to support the receptacle. To place the attachment in position it is inserted over the nozzle end of the faucet, is then moved back until the straps are back of the enlarged section of the faucet and the attachment then assumes the position shown in Fig. 1 conforming closely to the shape of the faucet. I
I claim:
A receptacle supporting faucet attachment comprising a main body part adapted to conform to the enlarged valve containing section of the faucet, a bearing adapted to conform to the downwardly curved nozzle portion of the faucet, means adapted to engage the underside of the faucet back of the enlarged part thereofand a receptacle sup port, said attachment being provided with an opening to admit the faucet.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
COLIN MANN.
