Be it known that I, CARRIE L. LONG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Gibbon, in the county of Bulialo, State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Iniprovements in Sad-Iron Heaters; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to improvements in heaters, and particularly to heaters for sad irons.
One object of the present invention is to provide a simple and cheap device of this character which will hold a number of irons which can be effectively heated at the same time.
Another object is to provide a device of this character in which the irons are covered to retain the heat for more eflectively heating the irons, and maintaining the heat therein.

Referring particularly to the accompanying drawing, 10 represents a metallic disk formed of any suitable material, but preferably aluminum, and in which there are formed a plurality of openings 11. Disposed on the disk, and beneath these partitions is an asbestos plate 15, said plate protecting the bottom of the iron from soot which arises from the flame of a gas or gasolene burner. Hinged to one side of the disk is a dome-shaped cover 16, the opposite side being provided with one part of a locking device 17 for holding the cover in closed position. A suitable handle 18 is carried by the top of the cover for swinging the same into open and closed position. The interior of this cover is lined with asbestos 19 to further assist in retaining the heat within the device. In the operatic-11 of the device, the cover is swung back and then the irons placed on the asbestos plate 15 between the partitions 14:. The cover is then closed and secured, the heat be ing efi ectively retained in the device to heat the irons and hold them in such condition. The partitions serve to guide in picking out the heated irons from those which have been returned for heating.
lVhat is claimed is:
A sad iron heater comprising a perforated disk having a vertical surrounding flange inwardly of the peripheral edge thereof, a vertical post in the center of the disk, radial partitions connected to the post, and to the flange and being of a height equal tothe flange and a movable imperforate domeshaped cover movably connected to one edge of the disk and embracing the flange.
