To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL T. PALMENBERG, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York borough of Manhattan, in the county and tate of New ork, have invented a new and Improved Garment-Hanger, of which the following is and exact description.
The object of the invention is to provide a new and improved garment hanger more especially designed for supporting ladies waists and similar garments and holding the same against accidental slipping off should the garment be left unbuttoned or open at the time.
In order to accomplish the desired result, use is made of an arched hanger bar having a central supporting means and provided at the top intermediate the ends and the said supporting means with upwardly extending retaining devices for engagement by the garment hung on the hanger bar.

Wood, bent lnto arch shape and provided at the middle with a supporting hook 11 ex tending upwardly for supporting the garment hanger and the garment held thereon The top of the bar 10 is provided near the ends thereof with upwardly extending retaining means 12, preferably in the form of rubber buttons, attached 'to-the heads'of nails 13 driven into. the top ofthe hanger bar 10 so as to securely fasten the rubbenbuttons in place on the top of the hangerbar 10. It will be noticed that by the arrangement described, a suitable retaining means the top of the arched hanger bar so that the material of the waist or other delicate garment comes in contact with the rubber buttons and thus the garment is held against sliding off the hanger bar even should the toned. v
The rubber buttons are preferablylmade hemispherical so as material from being 1nj ured or caught when" slipping off the garment from the hanger or when placing the garment in position on the hanger. D
The garment hanger shown and described is very simple in construction and can be cheaply manufactured.

1. A garment hanger comprising a hanger bar havlng a continuous arched upper face, a supporting means projecting upwardly from the center thereof, hemispherical rubber buttons projecting upwardly from the upper face of the bar intermediate the center and each end thereof, said buttons adapted to have frictional contact with the material of a garment to aid in retaining in place and to prevent accidental slipping from the secure by Letters hanger.
2. A garment hanger comprising an arched hanger bar, the upper face of which presents an unbroken-contlnuous curve and rounded ends, an upwardly extending supporting hook at the center of the bar, hemi spherical rubber buttons secured to the upper face of th bar adjacent each end of said bar, and ails having pointed shanks projectingfrom the flat lower face of the buttons and their heads embedded in said buttons below the spherical surface thereof wherebg said buttons may be secured to the bar an present an unbroken frictional surface to the material of a garment to prevent its slipping therefrom and from the bar.
