of simple and durable construction, and

while protecting the palm of the hand from blisters and callouses, will in no manner interfere with the firmness of the grip on the club handle. a

My invention consists of certain details of construction hereinafter set forth, pointed out in my claim and illustrated in the accompanying drawings,in which- Figure I shows a hand on which is secured my improved pad; and Fig. II shows a view of the pad removed from the hand.

Referring to the accompanying drawings the reference numeral 10 indicates the body of the pad and thenumerals 11, 12, 13 and 14, indicate orifices cut therein and designed to receive the fingers of the hand. An elliptical orifice, properly placed, as shown at 15, is designed to receive the thumb of the hand. A strap 16, provided with a buckle 17, is secured to the upper part of the pad and is designed to encircle the wrist of the hand.

The numeral 18 indicates a rectangular strap of leather, or the like, secured to the pad in themanner shown, and designed to engage, lengthwise, the handle of the club when the hand grips the same.

I wish to call particular attention to the strap 18 for by making the pad thicker at this particular place it assists the player in securing a firmer grip of the club.

It should also be noted that my pad is in no sense a love and therefore does not interfere with ac free movement and set of the joints of the fingers and thumb and consequently, the firmness of the grip is not impaired.

Having thus described my invention what I claim'and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:

As a new article of manufacture, a hand pad composed of a body having finger holes and a thumb hole, a relatively narrow rectangular strap secured to and extending diagonally across the body and disposed between the finger and thumb holes, the side edges of said strap being spaced from the inner ends of the finger and thumb holes,

a separate securing strap connected to the base of the body and extending thereacross and disposed beyond and adjacent the outer end of the thumb hole base, the ends of the securing strap extending beyond the sides of the body and having cooperating fastening means. a
