,- To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EDWARD E. JENKINS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Flora, in the county of Clay, State of Illi-' nois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Mountings! for Calculating- Webs and the like; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

The present invention is directed to im provements in calculators, and more par ticularly to those employing webs on which the results of calculations are'marked.

The invention has for its object to so construct a device of this character that it may be easily and quickly manipulated so that a given amount may be computed and the answer read at a glance.

V A further object of the invention is to provide a simple and efficient means for regplating the tension of the computing we With these and other objects in view, this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formation, combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter more fully described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of the device.

Referring to the drawing, the numeral 1 designates a casing: having the elongated ends 2, and a bottom 3, the side edges of which are curved inwardly so as to provide a slot 4. It will be of course "understood that the bottom 4 and its curved side edges are suitably connected to the ends 2.

Rotatably supportedwithin the casing 1' and having their opposite ends journaled in the ends 2 are spindles 5, said spindles having one of their ends provided with milled heads 6 to facilitate the rotation of the spindles and thus the cylinders 7, which are fixed to the spindles.

The computing web 8 has its side edges secured to the cylinders 7 in any suitable manner, so that when the same is winding upon one cylinder it will unwind from the adjacent cylinder so that the tables printsite ends provided with open slots 15 which i are adapted to engage the spindles 5.

A collar X is carried by the rod 12 outwardly of the bar 14, this bar resting thereagainst.

13 and 14 are adapt ed to frictionally engage the opposite ends of the c linders 7 s6 that'upon rotation of the hea 16 the bar 13 may be moved toward or away from the bar 14, thus varying the frictional engagement between the ends of the bars and cylinders, thereby regulating thetension of the web 8.

The tables may be printed so as to compute the price of eggs by the dozen or fraction thereof, and the tables may be printed to indicate the cost of eggs by the crate.

The table illustrated consists of a column of figures from 1 to 40 inclusive, which is preferably printed in red ink and indicates the number of dozens, and an adjacent column of figures from 15 to 600 which indicates the price per dozen. Parallel with the column just mentioned is a column indicatmg the cost of a dozen eggs or fraction thereof. For example 24 dozen and 4% of a dozen eggs are purchased at 15 cents per dozen, thus totaling $3.60 added to which is the cost of 4% of a dozen at 15 cents'per dozen, which is 12 cents, thus making a total of $3.72.

The bottom 3 has connected thereto an eye 17 so that the device may be suspended upon a nail so as to .position the device vertically, or if desired the same may be arranged at an incline upon a table or desk by the Wire support 18 which is pivotally connected to the bottom 3.
