To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, SAMUEL S. MARLEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at XVilmington, in the county of New Castle and State of Delaware, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Games, of which the following is a specification, reference. being had to the accompanying drawings.

This invention relates to certain im provements in games and has relation more particularly to a device of this general character wherein surface projectiles are employed; and it is an object of the invention to provide a novel and improved board provided in its playing surface with a plurality of openings Or depressions and over which surface is adapted to be projected a disk or other rolling member, the purpose of the game being to cause the disk or rolling member projected across the playing surface to seat within an opening or depression.

The invention consists in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts of my improved game whereby certain important advantages are attained and the device is rendered simpler, less expensive and otherwise more convenient and advantageous for use, all as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.

The novel features of the invention will hereinafter be definitely claimed.

In order that my invention may be the better understood, I will now proceed to describe the same with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a view in top plan of a game constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention and showing a single projectile; Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken substantially on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1 ,and Fig. 3 is a sectional view taken substantially on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.

As disclosed in the accompanying drawings, 1 denotes a board of predetermined dimensions having its upper face fiat and having its under surface provided with the depending supports 2 whereby the board 1 may be supported in predetermined spaced relation relative to the surface on which it rests.

The board 1 is preferably rectangular in form and has its longitudinal edges defined by the upstanding flanges 3 and has its end or transverse marginal portions provided with the blocks 4 separated one from the other a predetermined distance to afford the receiving pockets 5 and into which pockets 5 is adapted to be positioned a circular disk 7 preferably of the same dimensions as the well known five-cent coin of the United the same to seat within an alined recess or slot 6, the projection being preferably. effected by striking a disk with the digit of a hand.

The game is preferably played by two persons playing from opposite ends of the board 1 and when a player causes a disk to be seated in each of his objective recesses or slots 6, said person is the winner of the game. Should a player miss an objective slot he loses his turn, but should he cause a disk to seat within a recess or slot 6, he continues to play. I

From the foregoing description, it is thought to be obvious that a game constructed in accordance with my invention is of an extremely simple and comparatively inexpensive .nature and is particularly well adapted for use by reason of the convenience and facility with which it may be assembled,

and itwill also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification without material departure from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and formation of the several parts herein shown in carrying out my invention in practice.
