PIPE-WRENCH.
Application filed November 29, 1915.
To all whom it may concern-.-
Be it known that I, LFON R PERKINS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Westfield, in the county of Marquette and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Pipe- Wrenches, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to tools, and more specifically to improvements in pipe wrenches.
The object of my invention is to provide a pipe wrench having a fixed jaw and a cooperating pivoted jaw adapted for various sized pipes and provided with adjustment means.
A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the kind described having dual gripping members, one on each side of a fixed jaw whereby constant regulation of the size of the wrench for various uses may be avoided.
Furthermore, my device is relatively simple and durable in construction, eco nomical in manufacturing cost, and extremely effective for the purpose intended.
Other objects of this invention not at this time more particularly enumerated, will be clearly understood from the detailed description and drawings forming a part of this specification.
Furthermore, this invention consists in.
3 is a transverse sectional view taken on the 7 line 33 of Fig. 1.
Referring further to the drawings wherein similar referenbe characters designate similar parts throughout the respective views, 1 designates the wrench handle formed with a shank 2 thereon, said shank 'being provided with a plurality of alined perforations 3 centrally therethrough near the free end of said shank. A rigid jaw 4,
Specification of Letters Patent.

Serial No. 64,069.
is formed upon the opposite end of the shank by beveling the side edges to a point and providing teeth on the said beveled edges.
A gripping member generally designated by 5 is formed with a hook 6 upon one end thereof and a relatively smaller hook 7 upon the other end thereof. Said gripping member is formed with a slot 8 centrally therethrough in alinement and in spaced relation with said hooks 6 and 7. A plurality of alined perforations 9 is formed transversely through the central portion of said gripping member so that when the shank 2 is inserted through the slot 8 thereof, it may be pivotally retained in engagement therewith by means of a bolt 10 the threaded end of which bolt engages the perforations 9.
It is obvious from the construction as described that the gripping member may be adjusted with respect to the fixed jaw by means of the various perforationsthrough both the gripping member and the shank of the fixed jaw portion, and that any size pipe may be securely gripped by the use of either the large or smaller hook end of said gripping member as may be found most suitable.
The utility, adaptability, and advantages of my improved form of pipe wrench being obvious, it is unnecessary to further enlarge upon the same herein.
Having now described and pointed out the new and useful features of my invention, I do not limit myself to the shape of certain parts where the shape is not essential, nor do I restrict myself to the exact details of construction shown and described, but mean and intend to claim all equivalents and variations thereof, not departing in principle from my invention, and falling within the purview ofthe appended claim.
'What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A pipe wrench comprising a shank, and handle grip on one end thereof, a serrated, pointed, rigid jaw formed on the opposite end of the shank, the shank being provided with a plurality of uniformly spaced and alining openings adjacent the rigid jaw, a gripping member having a longitudinal slot therein to-permit of the arrangement of the member about the shank, and further provided in the sides thereof with a plurality of uniformly spaced and oppositely dis-
