To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, BEN ZION HAUsNnR, a citizen of the United States, residing at Xew York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Qguadruple Spring-Fasteners; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will-enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings. and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in quadruple spring fasteners for garments and consists of a simple and eilicicnt device of this nature having various details of construction, combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.

My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view'showing the application of the fastener to a placket. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail top plan view of one form of the quadruple socket member, and Figs. 3 to 7 inclusive are views showing modified forms of the device.

Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates one meeting edge of a placket-and B the other.

C designates a socket member made of a single piece of wire which is bent to form four eyes, each designated by letter D, one end of the wire having a head E and the other end F an eye through which said wire passes, the head engaging the eyes as shown. The eyes serve as means whereby the de vice may be stitched to the garment as shown in Fig. 1.

In Fig. 3 of the drawings is shown a slight modification of the socket member in which the wire C has the usual eyes but has hooks v Specification of Letters Patent.

J and J respectively at the ends of the wire which engage each other, being held together by the resiliency of the wire.

In Fig. 4c, the wire L has its ends fastened together as at 0 and in Fig. 5, the wire is provided with interlocked ends Q and Q5, while the wire is bent to form the eyes Q and, as noted in Fig. 6, which shows in section the form illustrated in Fig. 5, the intersecting portions of the, wire forming the socket are raised and are in a plane parallel with the plane of said eyes and the four sections of the wire forming the socket are adapted to receive a stud from the disk I. In Fig. 7 of the drawings, the wire M, bent in the manner shown in the other fig ures, has a disk covering M with a central opening M therein through which the stud of a fastener is adapted to pass.

VVhatI claim to be new is z A resilient fastening member formed of a single piece of wire bent to form the marginal edges'of a square'outline opening with eyes at the four corners thereof, the wire crossing itself at right angles between said eyes, one end of the wire terminating in a head and the other end of the wire terminating in an eye adjacent the eye at the corner of the member and pressing outwardly against said head. 1
