To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MiKnJfiFURLoNG, a citizen of the United States, and alresident' of the city of Trenton, in the county of Grundy and State of Missouri, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Doors; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, referencebeinghad to the accompanying drawings, and to the numerals of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification."
Oftentimes in small buildings, particularly private garages, it is desirable to use all the space available, but this is not always possible owing to the fact that in some in-. stances conditions require the doors of the building to be hung in such a manner as to swing inwardly. Consequently, that portion of the interior of the building swept through by the door in its movement must necessarily remain unoccupied, in order to permit openingand closing of the door. Of
course, in some instances, sliding doors have.
been provided and, where adaptable, have proved satisfactory, but sometimes the Width of the doorway is so great that there is not sufficient space for the large sliding doors then required, to move into anopen position.
It is an object therefore of this invention to construct an inwardly opening sliding door which may swing from a closed position over a doorway in one Wall to an open position adjacent another wall of the building, thus affording an unobstructed opening through the doorway.
It is also an object of this invention to construct a slidable door supported upon suitable tracks mounted at an angle to one another on adjacent walls at the corner of a building, permitting the door to swing from a closed position to an open position, the door when in closed position being disposed over an opening in one wall and in open position being disposed adjacent the other wall, so that free access is had through said doorway.
It is also an important object of this in vention to construct a sliding door adapted to operate in a-confined space, moving from one wall to another during an opening or closing movement.
It is furthermore an important object of this invention to construct a pivotally mounted slidable door, one end of which is Specification of Letters Patent.

It is finally an object of this invention to construct an improved type of door movable 111 a confined space, and when either in fully openor closed position, as the case may be, lying flat against the walls of the building. As shown in the drawings, the walls of the building, a corner of which is shown, are
denoted respectively by the reference nu- 'merals l and 2, with the floor designated by the reference numeral 3. The doorway opening is cut in the wall 1, and mounted horizontally thereabove on the inner surface of the wall 1, is a track 1, consisting of a heavy bar of metal, bolted or otherwise secured at its ends to the wall. Intermediate spacing members 5, are provided between said track bar 4:, and the wall 1, and bolts extend therethrough to assist in supporting said bar upon the wall. Another flat track bar 6, is bent inwardly at one end and bolted to the wall 2, at the same height'thereon as the track 4, on the wall 1, and a plurality of Z-shaped bracket members 7 are secured to said track bar 6, and to the wall 2, to assist in supporting the track bar thereon.

spective track bars 4: and 6, and for this purpose at one of its ends is provided with a support 9, to which a support 10 is pivotally connected, said bracket 10, having piv oted therein a grooved wheel or roller 11, which tracks upon the bar 4. At the other end of said door 8, another support 12, is provided which, as clearly shown in Figs. 5 and 6, is flanged outwardly from the surface of the door, and pivotally connected thereto is a bracket 18, in whichis journaled a grooved wheel 14, which tracks upon the bar 6. Z-shaped brackets 15, are bolted to the wall 1, in a position to engage over the end of the door 8, when the same is in closed position, thus limiting the movement of said door, and also resisting any attempt to thrust the same inwardly by pressure applied on the exterior thereof.
The'operation is as follows: The door as shown in Fig. 1, is illustrated in closed position, and as shown in Fig. 2 is in open position, with an intermediate position thereof illustrated in dotted lines in Fig. 2. In orderto open the door from the position shown in Fig. 1, to that illustrated in Fig. 2, it is only necessary to pull the end at which the bracket 13, is attached inwardly, so that the roller therein tracks along the bar 6, and consequently the roller 11, in the pivoted bracket 10, at the other end of the door moves along the bar 4, so that the door not only slides but also swings into a new position, that is, parallel to or adjacent the wall *2. Because of the fact that the rail 6 terminates short of the rail 1, it is necessary that the door, in order that it when in closing position, may lie flush with the wall, shall move at its inner end beyond the end of said rail 6, which movement is permitted by the outwardly flanged bracket 12, said construction permitting the roller 1 1 to remain on the track 6 while the door 8 will come flush with the wall 1. Although I have not shown any particular locking means associated with the door for the purpose of retaining the same in closed position, it is obvious that the same may be adapted thereto, preferably at the end at which thebracket 13, is connected, in order to resist movement thereof inwardly from the wall 1. Also, if desired, the track bars 4 and 6, respectively, may be inclined inv such a manner that the door will roll by gravity into a closed position after having been opened.
I am aware that various detalls of con-- structlon may be var1ed through a wlde range without departing from the principles of this invention, and I therefore do not purpose limiting the patent'granted otherwise than necessitated by the prior art.
I claim as my invention:
In a device of the class described, a track secured upon one wall of a building, another line of the door and engaged upon the sec-' ond track.
