T 0 all whom it may concern 'Be it known that I, J osErH G. PERKINS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cincinnati, in the county of Hamilton and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bath Shower Attachments, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in shower attachment for baths.
One of its objects is to provide a new and simple combination of elements capable of attachment to any bath tub and readily and conveniently operable.
Another object is to provide a shower which is effective as to the place where the shower is delivered and which is not liable to throw water outside of the tub which does not require a curtain.
My invention also comprises certain details of form, combination and arrangement, all of which will be fully set forth in the description of the accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is avertical section through a bath tub illustrating my improvements in side elevation. Fig. 2 is an enlarged front elevation of the hot and cold water cocks and a portion of my improved shower attached thereto. Fig. 3 is an enlarged sectional view on line Z Z of Fig. 2.
The accompanving drawings represent the preferred embodiment of my invention in which- A represents a bath tub.
B and C represents the hot and cold water cocks, and D the exit port leading therefrom to the tub.
My improved shower attachment comprises a cock or valve E seated in a shell F which has an exit port or tube 7" lead ing therefrom to the tub and a socket G to detachably seat over the the exit port D. Attached to the end' of the valve E are two elbows g angdjt to form a double bend from shower to cover the lnterior of a long or Specification of Letters Patent.

Ordinarily however, the two lower nozzles J are rigidly mounted with reference to the tube H, and only the nozzle at the outer end of the tube H is adjustable to cause the shower to accommodate itself to or within the dimensions of the tub. The valve E has a rotary move ment within its casing of approximately ninety degrees and when the tube H stands in a substantially vertical position as in full line Fig. 1, the water flows through the recess 6 of the valve E and out through the port f to the tub. In this position the temperature of the water may be adjusted or the tub filled, and the water is positively cut off from the shower.
When the shower is to be employed the tube H is pulled over to the inclined position indicated in dotted line Fig. 1, and the valve E assumes. the position shown in Fig. 3 cutting off the water supply through the passage 8 and causing the water to enter the passage (1 and flow therefrom through the elbows g and. k and tube H to the nozzles J, which are in position to direct the shower onto a person in the tub, and without dis charging any water outside of the tub. As soon as the tube H is'restored to vertical position the water supply thereto is positively cut of? therefrom, and said tube and nozzles use of the tub.
In order to detachably secure the shower attachment to any tub I provide a clamping fork or yoke K having a screw L and a platen M. A rubber washern'is placed in the socket G and the hooked, ends of the yoke K engage under the outside of the socket, after which the screw L and platen M SEIXG to firmly clamp the socket G over the end of the exit port D A pin 7) projecting from the valve E engages a segmental recess in the casing F to limit the movement of valve E and tube H. Tube H is preferably set to stand as illustrated in Fig. 1, but may be set at a different angle if desired. The tube H is preferably arranged to be detached into short sections for shipping and storage. The exit port 7'' is designed if desired to receive a flexible rubber tube carrying a rose head spraying nozzle to spraythe hair or head.
' The mechanism herein illustrated and described is capable of considerable modification without departing from the principle of my invention.

1; A bath shower attachment comprising a valve casing having a downwardly di- I rected exit port and an upwardly directed coupling member to couple it to a source of water supply, a two-way valve seated in said casing, a shower tube connected to said valve I and provided with a plurality of spray 'nozzles, said shower tube being movable with said valve from a substantially vertical position to an inclined positionover a bath tub, said valve having one passage to leadcal to an inclined position over a tub, said either through the exit port of said casing valve serving to positively direct water toba tub or through said showertube to a tu (J3, A detachablev bath shower attachment .'-comprising a valve casing having an exit port to a tub means to detachably connect said casing to the water exit of a tub, atwoway valve having a passage to direct water to the exit port of said casing and a pasthe Way to an inclined operative position over a bath tub, and serving as a'handle to operate said valve, said tube being provided with perforations to direct a shower down wardly into the tub when said valve is position to supply water to said tube.
4:- A bath shower attachment comprisingv a valve casing having a downwardly directed exitport and an upwardly directed coupling member to couple it'to a source of water supply, a two-way valve seated in said casing, a'shower tube connected to and movable with said valve from a substantially vertical position when inoperative to an inclined ,position over a bath tub when in operative position. and provided with one or more rigid spray nozzles and at its outer end with an adjustable spray nozzle, said valve having one passage to positively lead Water to the exit port of said casing and another passage to conduct water to said shower tube and nozzles.
