IMPRQVEMENT IN TOBACCO-CUTTERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 116,136, dated June 20, 1871.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J osn M. AGUAYO, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a certain new and Improved Knife or Gutter for Tobacco, &c.; and that the following description, taken in connection With the accompanying drawing hereinafter referred to and forming a part of the same, is a full and complete specification thereof.
The present invention relates to a knife or cutter more especially intended for cutting tobacco-leaf in the manufacture of cigars, al-.
d slightly convex from end to end, but it may be straight. The outer end 0 of the blade B terminates in a bifurcated arm, D, between which is arranged awheel, E, to freely turn. The periphery or edge I) of this wheel E is constructed to out, being beveled for such purpose on its sides. A knife combining a fixed and a moving or rotary cutter-blade, as described, it is obvious, for many purposes, especially in the preparation of tobacco-leaf for being made into cigars, combines many advantages, and is most convenient and useful.
Having thus described my improved knife or cutter for tobacco, &c., I shall state my claim as follows:
A knife or cutter combining a fixed blade, B, and a free Wheel-blade, E, substantially as and for the purpose described.
The above specification of myimproved knife or cutter for tobacco, &c., signed by me this 19th day of May, 1871.
