CORPORATION OF CONNECTICUT.
DRAWER-SLIDE AND THE LIKE.
Application filed July 11, 1911.
To all whom it may concern.
Be it known that I, HERBERT J. PFEIFFER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drawer-Slides and the like, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to any article of furniture employing sliding drawer compartments or other receptacles and its object is to provide an improved bearing on which such receptacles can be easily and conveniently moved.
In the drawings: Figure l is a side elevation of the device made in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a top view thereof.
Referring to the drawings my device comprises a body part a with end projections bb fitting into apertures in the frame of the desk, bureau or other structure in order to properly position and hold the device in place.
The body a is slotted throughout the greater part of its length as at c to receive a shaft (2 to the ends of which on either side of the body are secured the rollers e. The slotted body forms a track on which the shaft rolls and the rollers are free to Specification of Letters latent.

rotate on the shaft. The fin f on the body rides in a groove 9 in the drawer or other movable part and acts as a guide for the drawer. It will be noted that the drawer is structurally quite separate from the slide, and the rollers which support the drawer are freely movable on their shaft, and the shaft in the slide. Preferably the body is formed from sheet metal and the rollers are stamped up into cup shape.
The device as herein above illustrated and described is extremely simple, inexpensive to manufacture, easily renewable in any of its parts and extremely eflicient in its operation.
I claim as my invention In a device of the character described, a body member provided with means for securing it in position, and having a longitudinal slot, a shaft extending through said slot and having a rolling support on one edge thereof, rollers rotatably mounted on the ends of said shaft at each side of the body member, and a fin at the top of the body member upstanding above said rollers.
