BARBER, s citized of the United States, residing at Harrison, in the county of Boone and State of Arkansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in liaianiiiolding Sales Books; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in theert to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to sales books and more particularly to inenii olding pads or books ofthis character in which the memo rnnds. are w itten on one leaf and transt'errerl to s duplicetelerfliy means of :1 transfer medium.

The object of the invention is to provide an improved pad equipped with stickers which are connected with the duplicate sheets and designed t be used for fastening up parcels and for-securing the duplicate memorandum slip to the goods to be delivered and thereby prevent danger of or- 7 il illl mixed which frequently occurs,

Both-the original and duplicate leaves are ruled with lines for writing and col un ns for figures and also have printed on them date lines, a line for the address and squares for various entries with printed ieudings for each the name of the firm and the like. Any desired number of these alteruately arranged original 1 and duplicate leaves or sheets 2 and 3 may be mounted on and secured to the base 1 by staples 5 or otherwise and all of said leaves are pr0- vided with e transverse row of perforations 3 arranged near their upper fastened ends to provide for the ready tearing oil of'said leaves when desired.

The original leavcsZ are all carbon coated on their lower faces as shown at 7 as is usual with pads of this character to provide for the transfer to th duplicate sheet data written on the front face of the original.

The duplic-ite slips or leaves 3 extend at lower ends beyond the originals and are divided transversely into a plurality of stickers 8, any desired number of whichmay be provided and which are designed for use in fastening up parcels and for securing the duplicates to the goods to be delivered to prevent mixing of the orders by swapping of the slips. In the use of this pad, the rest 4- cerried by the, outer face thereof is designed to support the leaves to be written on. The pair of checks or leaves 2 and 3 to be written on, are first raised shown in Fig. 2 and said rest is then inserted under them and the leaves then lowered as shown in 1, when they are, ready to receive the order to be written, and the date desired to be placed thereon is written on the outer face of the original sheet 2 and by means of the carbon coating on the under face of said sheet is trunst'erred to the duplicate sheet 3. The original may then'be placed on a file or where desired and the duplicate may be attached to the goods to be delivered, the innermost sticker being left secured thereto, to provide for this attachment, and the other sticker or stickers may be detached from said leaf 3 and used for securing together the wrappers of the goods to avoid the necessity oi employing strings for this purposel By this arrangement, the rest 4 is always ready for use and all danger of the data being transferred to more than the two sheets for which it is intended, is obviated.

I claim as 1ny invention:-

1. A inanifolding sales book comprising a supporting base, a plurality of sets of original and duplicate leaves superposed on each other, the original and duplicate leaves alternating, a transfer element arranged between said original and duplicate leaves, the duplicate leaves projecting at the lower ends beyond the originals and provided on said projecting ends ith a sticker.

2. A manifolding sales book comprising a supporting base, a plurality of sets of original and duplicate leaves superposed on each other, the original andduplicate leaves alternating, a transfer element arranged between said original and duplicate leaves, the dupliate leaves projecting at the lower ends beyond the originals and a rest on which said slips are adapted to be placed when written on attached to the base of said sales book.

3. A nianifolding sales book comprising a supporting base, original and duplicate leaves arranged thereon in superposed relation, the originals alternating with the duplicates, said original leaves being carbon coated on their under or inner faces, the duplicate leaves extending at their lower ends beyond the originals and divided by transverse rows of perforations int-o detachable strips, said strips being provided on their under faces with an adhesive.
