My invention has for its object the fastening of the truss on the body in such a manner as to avoid all projecting studs or screws; and consists in a slotted plate on the pad or belt, and headed pins on the under side of the ends of the straps, all forming a concealed fastening.

Experience has shown that studs or screwheads projecting from the pad of a truss are objectionable from their liability to catch and wear the clothing.

I I overcome this objection and efiect a secure and convenient fastening, without projections of any kind, by attaching a button to the in; ner face of the clasps O and C, forming the ends, respectively, of the body-belt B B and; the thigh-strap D D, (see Fig. 3 at H,) and cutting in the plate A an angular slot, a a, fitted to receive the buttons, as seen in Figs. 1 and 2. The button of the clasp sinks into the slot at the angle, where it is made large enough to receive the head of the button, and slides down in the narrow portion of the slot into position, where it is held securely, and yet entirely concealed from View, leaving a smooth surface on the outside.

I claim as my invention- I The combination of a slotted plate or tfusspad and clasps with inwardly-projecting buttons to form a fastening, substantially as described, and for the purpose set forth.
