I, ELDnIDGn-J. SMITH, of Washington, in the District of Columbia, have invented certain improvements' in Envelopes, of which the following is a specilication.
Objects of the Irwention- My invention relates to a sectional triangular o1' other suitable-shaped sectional envelope, open at the longest side or hypotennse, so as to admit the corner of a folded letter-sheet to he inserted within the same.
The objects of my invention are tovreduee the Weight of letters, convenience in application, and that of retaining an address and post-office mark on the lettersheet instead of on the envelope; also, convenience in carrying the envelope within a small space, one envelope being made to t inside the other.
The sectionor sections of the envelope may be attached to each other.
The'sectional envelopes are Yattached to a folded letter-sheet by being gnmrned in the usual manner. 'v Description of the .Accompanying Drawing.
Figure 1 represents the envelope detached. Figure 2 shows the same as applied to the folded letter-sheet ready for the mail.
