Application filed March 22, 1915. Serial No. 16,096.
To all ywhom 'it may concern Be it known that l', Jeun ZELENK, a subject of the King of Hungary, residing' at Battle Creek, in the county 'of Calhoun avi. State oi Michigan, have invented certain new and ilseinl"improvements in F olding Canip-'lablesa of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in folding' camp tables.
rihe primary object ol the present in- \ention is the provision ot a oldable table adapted to be positioned in the form of boi: for storage purposes when not desired for use.
il further object of the device is to provide a table having four corner legs land-a ce; rally positioned binding` legi, the entire structure beingr foldable into box formation with the live legs positioned inclosed therein.
A still further object is to 'provide a table especiall and having the top formed in foldable scctions, the said sections having retainingde vices for securing" the tcp in an unbroken plaine, the sections however being foldable into closed boit '.Eorin for holdingl the corner leas secured to the adjacent sections of the table 'top and the center leg detached from its clamping; position.
vWith these jqeneral objects in view and others that will appear as the nature of the invention isV better understood, the same consists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanyi.ngF drawings and pointed out in vthe appended claims.
in the drawings forming a partici this application and in which like. designating characters refer to corresponding parts tlil'oughout the several viewszFigure l is'v a perspective view of the device set up as a table. thereof. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the device in its closed position.v Fig. ,4. is a 'perspective interior view of the lower side of an'end portion of the device in its closed position with some of the elements broken away. Fig. 5 is an enlarged detail ,sectional view` through two of the corner legs and the adjacent portion of the table top'witli saidlegs in theirfolded position. Fig. is a longitndinal sectional View of one ot the retaining bolts of the top sec tions. 7 is an inverted perspective' designed for camping' purposes" Fig. 2 is a bottom plan View view of a corner portion of the table looking." at the under side thereof. Fig'. 9 is a perspective view oi a lnodiiedy form of locking; bolt for the table top sec;-` tions. Y
Referringmore in detail to the drawings,v
the complete table top 10 of the device is` formed in foldable sections and comprises `66 vtwo equal portions or halves 11 and 12 con-Y nccted together by the hinges 13. Each of' 4the said halves is provided with two of the corner legs 14 of the table whilea centrally..
positioned clamping leg 15 is conjointly'carsA ried by the said two halves. The toprnenr ber of each of the table halves 11 Aand 12 is identically formed of a central rectangu-J lar leail 16 having oppositely positioned side leaves 17 `hinged to the underneath side,I thereof by means of hinges 18 and 19, while tie corner legs 14 of each of the said tabla4 halves are secured, one to the under sideof each of the said side leaves 17 as best illus,-l trated in Fig. 2. Retaining bolts QOa're carried 'by the under face of the leaves 16 and are adapted to be projected into loops' Q1 of the said side leaves 17 for the purposev ofretaining,v the side-leaves in an alining'k plane with the leaf 16. Each of the central leaves 1G is also provided with'side leavesv 22 which are hinged as at 23 to the said. leaves 16. A double bolt member 24' is can' ried by the leaves 22 and adapted 'to enf; gage a. double keeper 25V upon the under side oil the leaves 16 for the 'purpose of lie-- taining the terminal or end onesof the leaves QQ in alineincnt with the leaves 16.y i'
Each of thetops of the table halves is provided at each outer corner with a square corner section 26 which is hinged as at 27` t0 the sections 22 and is inwardly foldable' thereagainst but is adapted to ybe held proper alineinent with the adjacentl top secs tions-by means ofy the bolts -28 carriedby the leaves 17 and engaging straps 29 ofthe said corner sections 26. Similar corner sec,- tions 30 are provided at the inner corners of the top of each of the table sectionsand the saine are hinged as at 31 to the Iadjacent mici. iezii when er ser @05h59,
