This invention relates to. attachments of,

Though the nozzle box can be used without employing the plug grippers 9 the latter are preferably made part of the whole device as they promote a quick grip of the plug when the latter is returned after removal, the grippers then springing into place. protector has a slotted top plate having an under surface which in practice becomes dirty and is troublesome to clean. The said form also involves considerable weight and cost, and there is a liability. for its two doors to cease to close dust tight, the least opening admitting dirt direct to the nozzle exit. I therefore devised the present nozzle box back wall located at the rear of the nozzle exit, so that if dust did lodge there it would probably not enter the milk or like fluid; I devised also this one-door tap protector; and did away with surfaces so placed that they would harbor dirt or be hard to clean. These improvements result in a lighter, cheaper and more practical article which can be made if desired by al-.

Having described this invention, what is claimed by Letters Patent is 1. The combination with a faucet provided with a valve plug and a nozzle, of a plate carried by said nozzle clear of its orifice and between said orifice and said orifice and between said orifice, and said plug, a box member hinged to said plate and adapted to form therewith a closed vessel inclosing the open end of said nozzle, a spring adapted to normally hold said box member in the position for inclosing said end of thenozzle, and means operated An earlier form of two-door tap by the turning of said plug to move said box member from said position against the action of said spring, substantially as described.

The combination with a faucet provided with a valve plug and a nozzle, of a plate carried by said nozzle clear of its orifice and between said orifice and said plug, a gasket carried by said plate, a box member hinged to said plate and adapted to engage said gasket and to form therewith a closed vessel inclosing the open end of said nozzle, and means operated by the turning of said plug for swinging said box member from the position in which it incloses said end of the nozzle, substantially as described.

4. The combination with a faucet provided with a valve plug and a nozzle, of a plate carried by said nozzle clear of its orifice and between said orifice and said plug, a gasket carried by said plate, a box member' hinged to said plate and adapted to engage said gasket and to form therewith a closed vessel inclosing the open end of said nozzle, a spring adapted to normally hold said box member in the position for inclosing said end of the nozzle, and means operated by the turning of said plug to move said box member from said position against the action of said spring, substantially as described.

5. The combination with a faucet pro vided with a valve plug and a nozzle, of a plate carried by said nozzle clear of its orifice and between said orifice and said plug, a gasket carried by said plate, a box memberhinged to said plate and adapted to engage said gasket and to form therewith a closed vessel inclosing the open end of said nozzle, and a cam arrangement operated by the turning of said plug for swinging said box member from the position in which it incloses said end of the nozzle, substantially as described.

6. The combination with a faucet provided with a valve plug and a nozzle, of a plate carried by said nozzle clear of its orilice and between said orifice and said plug, a gasket carried by said plate, a box member hinged to said plate and adapted to engage said gasket and to form therewith a closed vessel inclosing the open end of said nozzle, a spring adapted to normally hold said box member in the position for inclosing said end of the nozzle, and a cam arrangement operated by the turning of said plug to move said box member from said position against the action of said spring, substantially as described.

7. The combination with a faucet provided with a valve plug and a nozzle, of a plate detachably mounted on said nozzle clearto its orifice and between said orifice and said plug, a resilient clip attached to said plate and adapted to engage the lower end of said plug, whereby to aline said plate in the proper position, means for clamping said plate in place on said nozzle, a box member hinged to said plate and adapted to form therewith a closed vessel inclosing the open end of said nozzle, and

means operated by the turning of said plugfor swinging said boxmember from the position in which it inoloses said end of the nozzle, substantially as described.

8. The combination with a faucet provided with a valve plug and a nozzle, of a plate detachably mounted on said nozzle clear of its orifice and between said orifice and said plug, a resilient clip attached to said plate and adapted to engage the lower end of said plug, whereby to aline said plate in the proper position, means for-clamping said plate in place on said nozzle, a box member hinged to said plate and adapted to form therewith a closed vessel inclosing the open end of said nozzle, a spring adapted to normally hold said box member in the position for inclosing said end of the nozzle, and means operated by the turning of said plug to move said box member from said po-.
