In the above drawings 1 represents the top of the casing df a talking machine of the well known form upon which is mounted a rotary plate 2, driven from a vertical spindle 3 inthe ordinary manner. lOn this plate may be placed record disks yof any diameter, the customary sizes being either twelve inch'or ten inch disks, as illustrated at 4 and 5 respectively.' The tone arm of the machine is indicated at 6 and in the present v case is shown as mounted on a vertical-pivot 7 so as to swing in a substantially horizontalv plane, the' sound box 8 bein attached to the free end of said arm throug a cose-neck 9.
