To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Hnmnron Senor/z, a subject of the Gerinan Emperor, and resident of 57 Alzeyerstrasse, Worms-cathe- Rhine, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drying of PatentLeather, of .Which the following is a specification.
The drying of patent leather causesyas is Well known, considerable difficulties. In recent times artificial, and in particular mer cury light has been substituted instead of sun-light for the final drying. However, it is not always possible to obtain perfectly satisfactory results With the aid of artificial light, and various precautions have to be ob served. Among others a powerful ventilation is necessary in order to prevent the formation of ozone and the detrimental effect thereof. Particularly in summer, when higher temperatures prevail, the drying by aid of artificial light Will cause much difliculty. It has,'now, been found that far hetter results may be obtained if some ammonia is placed into the chamber in which the leather is exposed to the action of the light, so that the patent leather is exposed to the Specification of Letters 'fatent.
