.i3-iniciara, and a resident of Dothan, in the State of AAlabama, have invented a new and useful improvement in Swings, of which the folio-.vind is a specification. i This invention relates to suspende-d swings of what may be termed the scttee type, and consists iii the improvement hereinafter particularly set forth and ciaimed. Tlie leading object of this invention is to adapt a sightly settee-shaped swing to be readily and quickly converted into a safe cradleor iiifants swing without the aid of detached parts.

The improved settee-shaped swing is preferably and conveniently constructed with a pair of seats, 1 and 2, and with corresponding individually reversible backs, 1

A bottom frame, 4, common to both the seats 1 and 2, supports rigidly a pair of ends 5 and (i and a partition member T; said ends being provided in common with means for attaching thereto ropes.or chains for sus pending the body of the swing. Such means, which maybe of any known or improved kind, are represented by holes,` S, with a hook 8, beneath each hole, iii Fig. 1. These ways are closed by the front sti'ip i of thel frame 4. which is provided. with a slot, 13, through which the slide is .vithdrawable. The movements of the slide are controlled by a pair of crank-shaped pivots,
