HAY-TRACK FOR HAY-FORK CARRIERS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Apr. 13, 1915.
Application filed November 16, 1914. Serial No. 872,494.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, DnNIs J. DELANEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Avoca, in the county 01" Iowa and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hay-Tracks for Hay-Fork Carriers, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to improvements in tracks for hay carriers; and it consists, essentially, of a device whereby the track may be slanted either in an ascending or descending manner. This has the advantage that the hay f rk carrier may be easily operated with less work on the part of the power, which is used in the operation, making it easier and cheaper.
Reference is to be had in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is an elevation partly in section showing the track B in normal position and in dotted lines its position when a load approaches the end near the hanger A. Fig. 2 is a section on the line 22 of Fig. 1 looking in the direction of the arrows.
Corresponding and like parts are referred to in the following description and indicated in all the views of the drawing by the same reference characters. The letter A indicates an iron suspending link, which is attached to the iron bar E and the inverted bolts I) on the track B, by which the track B is supported.
The letter C indicates a steel coil spring, which is supported by an iron bar E and an extending link A. lhe coil spring G gives the track B immunity to ascend or descend while the operation is in action. The length, size and strength of the bars E, suspending links A, and U bolts D will depend upon the number of supporting rafters, length and weight of the track B. The length and size of the coil spring C will depend upon the length and weight of the track B. This device may be applied to tracks of seventy-two feet and under, in length.
From the foregoing description it will be readily understood that I have devised an improvement in tracks for hay carriers which is very simple in construction and which will at the same time be very durable in use.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is The combination with a track supported by a series of slotted links and having a link supported spring at one end, whereby the track is adapted to be depressed under the influence of a traveling load.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
DENIS J. DELANEY.
