T0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES J. DE Cos- TER, a citizen of the United States, residing at West Allis, in the county ofMilWaukee and State of Wisconsin, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Non- Reillable Bottles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in non-rellable bottles, and

has for its principal object to provide a bottle which cannot be refilled.
Another object of the invention is to provide a device by means of which any attempt to raise the valve from its seat will be frustrated and thereby' the refilling of the bottle rendered impossible.
A further object of this invention is to provide a simple and effective bottle valve whichwill accomplish the above mentioned objects and which will be particularly cheap in construction and simple in operation.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel combination and arrangement of parts Awhich will be fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawings, in which,

A second enlarged bore of greater diameter than the first mentioned enlarged bore is also formed in the bottle neck and provided near its upper extremity with the annular groove 6 to receive the cement by means of which the guard element is securely held in place.
The guard element above referred to is designated generally by the numeral 7 and comprises the body portion 8 which is provided wi'th a plurality of outstanding lugs 9 as clearly shown in Figs. land 3. This guard element is provided at its upper. extremity with the beveled portion 10 having formed thereonl the outstanding lugs 11, the use of which will appear as the description proceeds. A central recess 12 is formed in the under side of the body portion 8 and is arranged to receive the coil spring which holds the valve in place when the device is 1n use.
The ring 13 is arranged to hold the guard member in place and is provided on its pc- /riphery with the groove 14 which coperates with the groove 6 in the bottle neck to receive cement and prevent the guard member from being withdrawn after once being put in place. i
The valve which is used in connection with this invention preferably comprises the disk of a non-magnetic material 15 which is provided atA diametrically opposite points with the outstanding lugs 16. This valve is adapted to coperate with the shoulder 4 to close the bottle neck when the pressure of the fluid flowing outwardly' In the modified form of the guard member which is illustrated in Fig. 5, the ring is formed integral with the guard member and in place of the lugs 11 which were arranged to space the guard member from the ring, are preferably provided the apertures 18 through which the liquid flows when the bottle is tilted.
` It will be evident from the foregoing that in use the bottle neck is prepared with the shoulder 4 and the enlarged bore 5. The guard member 7 is then placed in position with the valve 15 in place on the valve seat and the spring 17 exerting downward pressure against the valve. The ring 13 is then placed in position and cement or similar material is placed in the groove formed in the bottle neck and the ring, and it will be evident that when the cement hardens the whole will be securely held together. Upon tilting the bottle it will be apparent that the liquid therein will strike the bottom of the valve and force the same from its seat. It will then flow through the spaces between the lugs in both the valve member and the guard member, and thence through the spaces between the lugs 11 formed on the beveled surface of the guard member out through the aperture in the ring 13 and into the desired receptacle. Should a person attempt to refill the bottle,it will be evident that the spring 17 will return the valve toits seat and any attempt to force liquid into the bottle neck will be frustrated since the 'valve cannot become raised from its seat withoutthe pressure oiliquid on the opposite'side. When the modied form of the invention is used, the liquid passes through the apertures 18 instead of around the lugs 11 and thus out of the mouth of the bottle into the desired receptacle.
While in the foregoing there has been shown and described thepreferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that such changes may be made in the combination and arrangement of parts as will fall within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claim appended hereto.
Having thus described my invention, I claim:
In a non-reiillable bottle, a body,said body being hollow and cylindrical, a neck formed at one end of the body, said neck being provided with. an axial bore, an enlarged portion formed at the free terminal of the neck,
said enlarged portion being provided with an enlarged axial bore and having a reduced axial bore formed at its innermost terminal,
the reduced axial borefcomm/uncating with the enlarged axial bore and the bore through the neck of the bottle, the reduced axial l tion to the walls of the enlarged bore, a
hollow extension formed at the upper terminal of the cylindrical body, said extension being provided with an axial bore and havingapertures communicating with the space between the lugs and the bore to enable liquid to pass therethrough, the lower terminal of the cylindrical body being recessed, a spring arranged to seat in the recess, a valve carried by the lower terminal of the spring, said valve being arranged to rest against the valve seat to close the opening through the bottle neck and lugs formed at diametrical opposite points on the valve to hold the same in spaced relation to the` side walls of the reduced axial bore and thereby insure the proper feeding thereof.
