To all lwhom fit may concern Be it lnown that I, GEORGE A. JEREMIAH, of the city, county, and State of `N ew York, have invented anew and useful Improvement i-n Bedsteads; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and vuse the same, reference being had-i to the accompanying drawing forming part of this specification, in which drawingv Figure 1 represents a longitudinal vertical section of this invention when the same is pnt up for use.

Figure 3 is a transverse section of the same.

This invention relates to a bedstead, which is provided with or without a l1ead-board, folding outward, with legs which swing up, and with rollers at or near the corners of the frame, in such a manner that when the head-board is folded up and the legs are turned down the bedstead is ready for use, and that, when the hedstead is to he pnt ont ol.' the way, the headboard can he folded down and the legs turned or moved up without removing the bed-clothes, pillows, or mattress from the bedstead, and by means of the rollers the bedstead can be pushed under another bedstead or other piece of furniture, with ease and facility.
In the drawing- The letter' A designates a bedstead which is made of a frame, to onev end of which is hinged a headboard,- B, so that the same can be folded outward, as shown in iig. 2, or that -it can be turned up and iastened in the position shown in lig. 1.
To the sides ofthe frame A are secured the legs C, either by means of pivots a, as shown in the drawing, so that they can -be turned up or down, or in any other' way allowing them to turn up or down, so that the saine can be brought in the position shown in'g. 1, when the bedstead is to be used, or in the position shown in iig. 2 when the bedstead is to be pnt out of the way.
The pivots a may be made to extend through -the bedstead, so that each carries two legs, and that by turning one leg the other is also turned. At or near the corners of the frame A are placed rollers, D, the axles of which extend either in the direction of the length of the bedstead, or transversely to the same, or said roller-scan be made in the shape of caster rollers, so that they can accommodate themselves to the direction in which the bedstead is to be moved.
Whenfthis hedstead is to be used, the head-board is turned up and the legs are turned down,^as shown in iig. l of the drawing, and when it is desired to put the hedstead ont of the Way the head-board is folded down and the legs are turned up, as shown in lig. 2, without `removing the hed or any part thereof from the bedstead, andas the legs are turned up, theframef' A comes down upon the rollers D, and it can easily be pushed under another'bedstead, or under a sofa, or under any other furniture ofsntiicient height and length.
My invention is particularly intended for childrens bedsteads, which are used in` bed-rooms, where 4the space is necessarily limited, and, by constructing a bedstead according toiny invention, it can easily be pnt out of the way during the day-time, and in the evening it'can he pnt up in a few minutes, since it is not necessary to disturb the bed in putting away in y bedstead.
