To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that we, MAURICE A. Konr- Korr and HARRY R. KoNIKorr, citizens of the United States of America, and residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Dress- Forms, of which the following is a specification, such as will enable those skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to dress forms, in cluding both the bust and skirt portions, and the main object thereof is to make such forms collapsible whereby less space is re quired for storage and for shipping with the consequent saving.

A further object is to have the bust and skirt portions in permanent connection but readily collapsible and extensible, whereby any person may accomplish these results at will and without much effort. And further objects are to make such forms light but strong, comparatively inexpensive, and well adapted for the purposes for which they are designed.

Our invention is fully described in the following specification, of which the accompanying drawings form a part, in which the separate parts are designated by the same reference characters in each of the views, and in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of a dress formconstructed in accordance with our present invention, ready for use; Fig. 2 is a view thereof in collapsed form, and showing the supporting rod partially extended but separated from the base; Fig. 3 is an enlarged, sectional, view, showing the method of collapsing both the skirt and bust portions and the supporting rod; Fig. 4 is an enlarged detail of the skirt construction; and Fig. 5 is a section taken on the line 5-5 of Fig. 4.

In the drawings forming a part of this application we have shown a dress form comprising a bust portion a of the usual or any desired construction, these being generally only a light shell, and at certain desired points at the lower edge thereof we provide guides b for the skirt portion, four of these being employed in the present form, one in front, one in the back, and one on to the inner faces of the bands 0 and c3 and passing through the guides b, this being clearly shown in Fig. 5, the strips 0 being all secured upon the outer faces of all' of the bands, and by means of this arrangement the skirt portion may be telescoped over the bust portion, as is clearly shown in Figs. 2 and 3.

Within the bust portion a, at the bottom thereof, is a transverse board or plate (23 which serves as a support for a rod 0Z in permanent connection with said bust portion and immovable therein, said rod serving as a guiding support for a slide d adapted to be secured at any point of the said rod by means of thumb-screw (Z*, or equivalent, and the said slide has a supplemental rod d firmly secured therein and which rod extends to a point adjacent the bottom of the skirt portion and within the same, a tube 0Z being telescoped on the rod (Z and adapted to be locked at any point along the length thereof by means of a thumb-screw d, or equivalent, and the lower ends of both the rod d and tube (Z being screw-threaded for engagement with a base 6, whereby the form, as an entirety, may be revolved when in use, this being a great convenience to a dressmaker when using the form but, in the form shown, it is only the tube which is adapted for base engagement. By means of this sliding and telescoping standard arrangement the bust and skirt portions may be adjusted to any desirable height and, when the form is not in. use, said standard may be collapsed to be entirely within the bust portion, and the skirt may be telescoped over the bust portion whereby comparatively little room is taken by the form when not in use, or when being packed for shipment.

Our invention is very simple, practical,

strong, and efiicient, and, while we have shown a present preferred form of embodiment thereof, we do not confine ourselves to any specific details, as various changes in and modifications of the details shown and described may be made without departing from the spirit of our invention or sacrificing its advantages.

WVe do not herein claim the specific form of collapsible standard for the bust portion, as such construction constitutes the subject matter of a divisional application filed Oct. 15, 1914, Serial No. 866,795.

Having fully described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

A dress form comprising a bust portion and a skirt portion, the latter consisting of horizontal upper and lower bands, vertical strips in permanent connection therewith on the outer surface thereof, a plurality of supplemental vertical strips in permanent con- I nection with said upper and lower bands on ,the interior surface thereof, and a guiding clip for each of said supplemental strips secured to said bust portion at or near the lower end, whereby said skirt portion may telescope over said bust portion.
