To all 1v/wm it may concern Be it known that I, .ROBERT KENNETH Minne, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and resident of the city of Ottawa, Province of Ontario, Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Holders, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to bag holders for garbage collectors and particularly refers tov that type of collector vutilized in kitchens andlike places, and the objects of my invention are to render the collected garbage more easily removed and destroyed, to keep the surrounding places in which such a collector is fixed in a dry and sanitary state, andjto generally overcome the disagreeable conditions usually associated with garbage collectors.

Specific objects of the invention are to enable the various parts to be readily assembled or taken apart, and to simplify and improve the'mechanical construction, and it consists essentially of a suitable stand having detachable means at the top and bottom for supporting the collecting bag, with the mouth thereof open, and a cover hinged to the stand, .the parts being arranged and constructed in detail as hereinafter more partieularly described in the following specification. y

Referring to the drawings, 'represents the bracket or stand comprising a back or wall plate 1 consisting of the fianged parts 2 and the rectangular projecting part 3 extending therefrom, such 'flanges and projecting' part extending the whole length of the back plate in a vertical direction. This back plate is provided with orifices 4 extending through the flanges ,3 and with spaced slots 5 extending in and transversely across the front'face of the said rectangular projecting part 3, the said orifices being designed to* engage with screws or nails whereby the bracket is fixed in any desired position to any suitable support.

6- represents a supporting bracket or base consisting of the top plate 47 and the flanges 8 formed integral with -such top plate, the back of the said bracket being frm'ed with an upwardly turned tongue 9 substantially at right angles to the said top plate 7, such tongue being adapted to engage with the slots 5, the bracket being formed on the under side with an abutment adapted to engage the face of the back or wall plate and maintain the bracket in substantially horizontal position.

10 represents the supporting hoop consisting of the fianged ring 11 having the bracket 12 attached thereto, such bracket being provided with an upwardly extending tongue 27 designed to engage with the uppermost slot 5,'-the bracket having an abutment 27a engaging the face of the back or wall plate adapted to maintain the bracket in substantially horizontal position. Having described my invention I will now show the manner in which it is assembled: The back plate 1 is attached to any suitable support by means of screws engaging with the orifices 4 in the flanges .2, the height ofsuch bracket being determined by its convenience to the user.

As many changes could be made in the above construction and many, apparently widely different embodiments of my invention, within the scope of the claims, constructed without departing from the spirit or scope thereof, it is intended that all mat ter' contained in the accompanying specification and drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative andl not in a limiting sense. What I claim as my invention is: 1. A bag holder comprising a back plate adapted to be secured to a support formed with flanges having orifices therein and a rectangular projecting part extending 'from incassa 4said. flanges and formed integral therewith,- such projecting part having slots therein and extending transversely across the front. tace thereof, and a bag supporting means adapted to engagein the said slots.

4. A bag holder comprising a back plate formed with a vertically recessed central portion having a. series of transverse slots, a bracket for holding the top of the bag having one tongue adapted to extend through one of the slots and another tongue adapted to bear against the face of the plate and bag supporting means for the bottom of the bag also having a tongue adapted to extend through one of the slots anda second tongue adapted to bear against the face of the back plate.
