To all whom it may concern l Be it known thatiI, RICHARD Fox, a citizenof: the United States of America," residing at McKees Rocks, in the county of Allegheny andState of-Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful :Imprbvements in Wheeled Toys, of which the followingis a specification,- reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention --relates towwheeledn toys,
and has for its object to provide a toy of such class, with means in a manner as hereinafter set forth, which will afford considerable amusement to a child when ling the toy. I v
A further object of the invention is to propelprovide a wheeled toy having a plurality of rotatable elements capable of operating in opposite directions with respect to each other when the toy is propelled or pushed or pulled along the ground.
Further objects of the invention are to provide a wheeled toy, which is simple in its construction and arrangement, strong, durable, highly amusing, inexpensive, and conveniently operated.
With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists of the novel con- I struction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in theaccompanying drawings, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

Referring to the drawings in detail, 1 denotes a platform provided at each end with a spindle 2, upon which is mounted a wheel 3. The wheels 3 are retained upon the spindles 2 by cotterpins hand said wheels 3 are in the form of friction disks having broad peripheries.

The slots 6 of. the posts 5 aline with each other and mounted in said slots 6 are the reduced portions 18 of a shaft 14:. The reduced portions 13 of the shaft 14 project outwardly from the post 5 and connected to the ends of said reduced portions '13 are friction rollers 15. The openings 9 and 7 provide means to permit of themounting of the reduced portions 10 and 13 in theslots 8 and 6.
Loosely mounted upon each of the posts 5 and interposed between a wheel 3 and a roller 15is a drum 16, and loosely mounted upon each of the posts 5 and interposed between a roller 12 and 15 is a drum 17 The shaft 11 has secured thereto a series of. radially disposed blades or wings l8 and the shaft 14 has fixedly secured thereto two sets of radially disposed blades or wings 19. The blades or wings 18 extend between the sets of blades or wings 19 and theshaft 1 1 is disposed laterally'of thesh'aft 11.
