Specification of Letters Patent.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CARL BERG, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Harrow-Tooth Mounts, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to mounts for harrow teeth and it consists in the novel features hereinafter claimed.
An object of the invention is to provide a mount of simple and durable structure adapted to be applied to the frame of a harrow whereby the tooth is pivotally connected with the same the parts being so arranged that the tooth may rise or fall to fol%ow uneven places at the surface of the s01 With the above object in view the mount comprises a link which is adapted to be pivotally connected to the harrow frame, a relatively heavy head is adjustably con nected with the link and means are provided for securing the head at an adjusted position with the link. The said head is adapted to carry the harrow tooth.
In the accompanying drawing :-Figure 1 is a top plan view of a harrow with the tooth mount applied thereto. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the tooth mount with one of the bars of the harrow in section. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the parts of the tooth mount separated.
As illustrated in Fig. 1 of the drawing the harrow 1 may be of any usual form or configuration and is provided with one or more cross bars 2. The tooth mount comprises a link 3 which is pivoted on the bar 2 the said link being provided at its rear end and at its side with a rosette disk 4.. A head 5 is provided at one side with a recess 6 which receives the rear end of the link 3 the said recessed portion of the head 5 being provided with a'perforation 7 best shown in Fig. 3 through which a bolt 8 may be passed. The surface of the head 5 around that end of the perforation 7 which is located within the recess 6 is provided with a rosette 9, best shown in Fig. 3 of the drawing. The r0- sette surface 4 of the link 3 is adapted to fit against the rosette 9 and when the bolt 8 is passed transversely through the rear end of the link 3 and through the perforation 7 and is tightened the head 5 is held at an adjusted position with relation to the link 3. The head 5 is provided with a longitudinally disposed opening 10 in which is adjustably located a harrow tooth 11 which is held at an adjusted position in the head by means of a set screw 12 which passes through a threaded perforation 13 provided in the head 5 and which at its inner end engages the side of the tooth 11.
The link 3 is free to swing upon the cross bar 2 consequently when the harrow is drawn over the surface of the soil the said link may swing vertically so that the tooth 11 which is carried by the head 5 may rise and fall and consequently may follow uneven places at the surface of the soil. The head 5 is relatively heavy so that its weight will cause the tooth 11 to descend promptly when said tooth arrives at depressions in the soil and the weight of the head 5 is also suflicient to hold the tooth at a desired distance below the surface of the soil. By adjusting the head 5 with relation to the link 3 the angle of inclination of the tooth 11 may be varied with relation to the long dimension of the link 3 so that the tooth 11 may be presented at any desired angle to the surface of the soil.
Having described the invention what is claimed is A tooth mount comprising a link adapted to be pivotally connected with a'frame, a head provided at its side and edge with a recess which receives the end of the link, a bolt passing through the head and link and a tooth passing through the head and carried by the same.
