My invention is herein disclosed as applied to an Underwood typewriting machine in'whichthe platen is'journaled' in a traveh ing carriage; and the types strike against the front of said platen while the feed or pressure rolls lie beneath said platen, so that a work-sheet may he passed around "said platen from the back and fed .up in front past theprintin point by saidrolls.
