To all whom'it may concern: Be it known that I, Cnaiusnoa H. Brown, a citizen of the. United States, residing in Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of :Illinois,have invented certain new and use-\ ful Improvements in .Type-Writing Machines, of whichthe following is a specification.
This invention relates to paper feeding and controlling devices for typewriting ma; chines, and particularly to tally strips and means for feeding the same in con unction.

The tally strip or web 9 is normally wound up in the form of a roll 10 upon the supply spool 11, the strip being led down- 4, around the platen, and upward over the printing line to the receiving spool 12. The tally strip 9 may have its inner face provided with. carbon or other impression material for trans ferring impressions of the types 7 frorn'the tally strip'to the underlying worksheet 6, and it may comprise two sections 9 and 9 provided with impression material of different colors if desired. If preferred, a separate carbon strip or other transfer medium might be wound with the tally strip so as to be interposed between the latter and the main Work-sheet.
