In order to close the top of the box I provide the walls 41, 47 and 58 of the blank shown in Fig; 5 .with the triangular shaped pieces 64 which are adapted to it over t-he open ends of the cells 28 as plainly shown in Fig. 1, and thus close the individual cells while not preventing the package to be opened and the cells exposed, as shown in Fig. 6. It will now ,be seen that in the form of my invention illustrated in Figs. 1, 2 and 6 that I provide a multicellular package 'oylindrical or hexagonal in shape which may be readily opened out longitudinally of its length into two halves, that each of the halves will be provided with a plurality of cells such as are illustrated in Fig. 6; that these said cells may be permanently closed at one end, as illustrated in Fig. 1, while they are left open at their other end 66', see Fig. .6, so thatthe cigars orl other articles may be readily extracted from said cells; and that when the twohalves of the package are .folded up along the lines 62, Fig. 4, the hexagonal member 22 will -close the bottom of the said cells 23, as clearly illustrated in Fig. 2. It follows from this that the cigars may be kept air-tight or approximately air-tight while the package is in its closed condition, and yet the package may be readily opened at any time to extract the cigars.
In the modied form of my invention illustrated in Figs. 8 to 11, I provide a blank such as is illustrated in Fig. 11, which has the weakened lines 70, 71, 72, 7 8, 74 and 75 forming the Walls 76, 77, 78, 79 and 80, as

A plurality of these blanks are folded so as to form the triangular shaped cells 83, best illustrated in Fig. 9, and contiguous walls such as 76 and 8O of adjacent cells are secured together in any suitable manner as by glue, whereupon a multi-cellular box is produced. The walls 78 of the various cells may be provided with an orifice such as 84, and this orifice may be closed by transparent strips, such as 68, as indicated, in order that the contents of the cells may be readily viewed. One of the blanks, such as that illustrated in Fig. 11, is
also preferably provided with an integral hexagonal shaped member 85 which forms a closure for the bottom of the package as indicated in dotted and full lines in Fig. 8, thus permanently. closing one end of the package and of each cell. The other end of each cell is preferably provided with a cap member forn'ied from a blank, such as is illustrated in Fig.` 10. This blank is provided With the weakened lines 87, 88, 89 and 90 forming the walls 91, 92, '93, 94 and 95, which respectively match with or may be secured to the'walls 80, 7 9, l 78, 77 and 76, of the cells 88. This cap. member blankillustrated in Fig. 10-is further provided with an integral triangular extension 98 having a small tab 99,1and each of these extensions 98 are adapted to overlie a cell and close the end thereof, as will be clear from Fig. 7, the tab members 99 being located in the center of the package and secured together, as will be clear from the drawings. The opposite end of the cells are preferably provided With reinforced ring members 100, which are in all respects the same as the ring member shown in Fig. 10, except the triangular member 98l is omitted. This ring member 100 reinforces the bottom portion of the package and. of each cell.
In order to extract cigars or other articles from the package illustrated in Figs. 8to 11, it is only necessary to loosen the tabs 99 one at a time, bend back the cover members 98, as illustrated, whereupon the cells are opened one at a time and air is not permitted to enter the othercells. Vhen desired, the individual cells may be so secured together in any manner well known as to render them capable of being easily detached from each other, so that a single cigar'may be carried in a single cell if the purchaser wishes it. But, of course, if desired, the bottom 85 could be removed and thus uncover all of the cigars at once so ,that they would all be accessible to the user.
Coming now to the form of my invention illustrated in Figs. 12 to 17, the structure is 4quite similar to the structure just described,

The wall 113 may be pasted against the wall 105 of the cell while the wall 114 is pasted. against the wall 106 of the cell and the wall 115 is pasted against the wall 107 lof the cell, all as will be clear from Fig. 17 o f the drawings. After the various individual cells 102 have been thus secured together, and the lbands 110 placed thereupon, a. cover is provided which is preferably cut from a blank 116, such as is illustrated -in Fig. 15. That is to say, this said blank is provided with the severed lines 117, 118, 119, 120 and 121, forming the triangular members 122 adapted to close the individual cells, and the said triangular members integrally unite by means of theunsevered ortion 123 at the center of the blank. Eac of the triangular members 122 are provided with the la s or securing members 124 adapted to pass own over the walls 106 of the cells, and to be pasted thereto, so as to hold the closures 122 in place. In order to facilitate this closing of the cells, the band 110 is provided on its wall 114 with a notch 125 adapted to receive the tabs or flaps 124 when in their closing position. The bottom of thel package may be closed by a hexagonal shaped member 127, which ts over the `-ends of all of the cells, and another band 128 may be passed around each individual cell which is in all respects the same construction as the band 110, except the notch 125 is omitted. In

It will further. be seen that each of the packages disclosed are formed from a plurality of blanks of sheet material, and that each of the cells may be provided with openings closed by transparent material so as to permit. thel contents of the cells to be viewed before opening the same. It will further be observed that the cells are or may be made practically air-tight, so that when these packagesare used for cigars, the cigars will not be so liable to dry out as is the case in ackages which are not sealed. It should Ee likewise noted that by forming my individual cells substantially triangular in cross section, with one of the sides of the triangle secured -to the outer wall of the container, and the other two sides left free, I am enabled to fold up the two setsof cells into a round package as shown while at the same time, I can permanently close the outer ends of each cell, and open out said package so that the said inner ends of the cells will lie opposing each other, to facilitate the removal of cigars therefrom. Also, the cells of each set can be laterally moved or separated from each other, and thereby further aid in readily withdrawing the ci ars from the inwardly' extending open en s 66 of the cells.
It is obvious that those skilled in the art may vary the details of construction as Well as the arrangement of parts without departing from the spirit of my invention, and therefore I do not wish to be limited to the above disclosure except as may be required by the claims.
What I claim is 1. In a multi-cellular cylindrical package the combination of a pair of outer walls provided with weakened lines adapting the same to assume a circular form; a round shaped hinging and closing member integral with and joining said walls; a plurality of open ended cells substantially triangular in cross section, each having one side secured to said walls; and individual means integral with said walls for permanently closing one end of said cells, whereby said cells-maybe openedout into a flat form, or folded up into a cylindrical package, substantially as described.
2. In a multi-cellular cylindrical package the combination of a pair of cuter walls having transparent portions and provided with weakened lines adapting the same to assume a circular form; a round shaped hinging and closing member integral with and joining said walls; a plurality of open ended cells substantially triangular in cross section, each having one side secured to said walls; individual means integral with said walls for permanently closing one end of said cells; and additional means for securing said individual means to1 said walls, whereby said cells may be opened out into a' flat form, or folded up r`into a cylindrical package, substantially as described.
3. In a container the combination of a set of cells triangular in cross section provided with an individual closure for one end of each cell; a second set of cells triangular in cross section provided with an individual closure for each cell in said second set; and combined closing and hinging means circular in shape connecting said rst and second sets of cells, adapted to close the other lends of all the cells in both sets, and to permit the two sets of cells to open out and fold up, substantially as described.
4. In a container comprising two sets of cells, substantially triangular in crosssection, the combination of a blank provided with two members forming the outer walls of both sets of cells'and having a-member circular in shape adapted to close the ends of all the cells, as well as to act as a hinge for said sets of cells; and an additional blank forming the other walls of said cells associatedf with said two members of said first named blank, substantially as described.
5. A blank for forming the outer walls of a plurality of cells comprisin two members,
.receive the folded portions of another blank forming the other walls of said cells; and a combined hinging and closing member circular in shape joining said two blank members, substantially as described.
6. A. container for cigars comprising two sets of cells 'substantially triangular in cross section and open at each end, said cells being hinged together at one end, adapted to be opened out and closed up into a single cylindrical package; and individual triangular shapedmeansfor closing each cell at its unhinged end, substantially as described.
7. A cylindrical container for cigars comprising two sets of radially projecting cells adapted to be closed up and opened out with their open ends opposing each other; a hinge member circular in shape joining said open ends and adapted to close said ends.
