SYRINGE-NOZZLE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 21, 1914:.
Application filed July 16, 1913. Serial No. 779,348.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, Fnnnnmon. A. GORDON, a-citizen of the United States, residing at Spokane in the county of Spokane and State of Washington, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Syringe- Nozzles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in nozzles for syringes and as its principal object contemplates a device of this character which may be conveniently worn on the finger of the operator thus enabling him to gain access to wounds and potions of the body which are ordinarily inaccessible when the usual type of syringe nozzle is employed.
The above and additional objects are accomplished by such means as are illustrated in the accompanying drawings, described in the following specification and then more particularly pointed out in the claim which is appended hereto and forms a part of this application.
l ith reference to the drawings, wherein l have illustrated the preferred embodiment of my invention as it is reduced to practice and throughout the several views of which similar reference numerals designate corresponding parts: Figure l is a top plan view, and Fig. 2 is a section on the line 22 of Fig. 1.
Proceeding now to the description of the drawings the numeral 1 designates as an entirety the body portion of the device which is formed in the nature of a rubber finger stall and is equipped on its upper portion with a tube element, as indicated at 2. To the rear terminal of this tube element may be attached. the syringe tube. In practice the water or antiseptic fluid is conducted through the passage l of the member 2 to the end of the operators finger and issues out through a plurality of apertures or Vents indicated at 5.
From the foregoing the operation of the device will be apparent and it is desirable to emphasize the fact that by employing the syringe nozzle of this invention wounds may be more thoroughly cleansed than by the employment of the ordinary type of syringe nozzle.
In reduction to practice, I have found that the form of my invention illustrated in the drawings and referred to in the above description, as the preferred embodiment, is the most cflicient and practical; yet realizing that the conditions concurrent with the adoption of my device will necessarily vary, I desire to emphasize the fact that various minor changes in details of construction proportion and arrangement of parts may be resorted to, when required, without sacrificing any of the advantages of my invention, as defined in the appended claim.
What I claim is A syringe nozzle including a flexible tapered tubular body portion having one terminal sealed and the other open and adapted to be placed upon the finger of an operator and completely cover the finger, a tube fixed along one side of said body portion and being tapered toward its outer end and having its rear end extended for connection to a liquid supply source, and the forward end of said tube being provided with a plurality of apertures to permit issuance of the liquid.
In testimony whereof I. afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
