oi Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gloves, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to an improvement in oves and more particularly to the class of gloves which are formed of heavy fabric and are used to a. large extent by workmen.

One of the objects of the present invention is the provision of a glove of this character which will fit the hand more snugly and will be less bunglesome than the gloves of this kind now in use.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a love of this character which is so formed hat the seams are located in positions so that they will not be subjected to excessive strains and will not ohaie the hand of the wearer of the glove.

Other objects of the invention will be apparent from the detailed description hereinafter when read in'connection with the accompanying drawings forming a part hereof, wherein a convenient embodiment of the invention is illustrated and wherein like numerals of reference refer to similar parts in the several views.

To form the glove, the thumb section 2 of the blank ii. is folded to an upright p0sition and the'thumb member 5 is stitched thereto and to the adjacent portion of the palm piece 1 of the blank A. The flaps 3 3 and 4C of the finger pieces 3 and 4 are folded rearwardly. The upwardly inclined portions 6 and 7 of the finger sections 6 and 7 are stitched together, thus forming a str'highix scam between the fingens and the central portions of the bases of said finger sections are stitched to the curved edge of the blank A; which is positioned between the finger sections 3 and i thereof, and the revmaining portions of the bases of the finger a the glove by stitching the edges thereof to v glove and by ger portions the edges of the inelastic portion of the gers of the front portion of the glove. asrnuch as the inelastic portions of the finers of the glove are of such a width that they form the fronts and sides of the fingers and that they are adapted to not only extendpbetween the finger-shut also tolie upon the backs of the fingers, it will be seen that the seams which unite the elastic backing to the remainder of the glove will all be aositioned upon the backs of the fingers o the wearer, so that not only will such seams be protected from wear, but they will also be so positioned that they in no way interfere with the free manipulation of the hand of the wearer of the glove. The only finger seam which is positioned at the 'front of the glove is that at the base of the middle fingers and by locating the same at this point it will be obvious that it is practically relieved from all strain when the hand of the wearer is closed or partly closed,

as when grasping or holding an object. By providing a glove of this character with a one-piece elastic back and fingers the glove adjusts itself to different sized hands and fits much moresnugly than the ordinary working glove, thus enabling the workman to work much faster and more skilfully than is possible with the gloves of this kind heretofore in use.

The lower portion of the glove is provided with a wrist band C which may be of any well known type.
