Application August 1;, 1953, serial Nin-373,171 1 Claim.l (CL2-169) My invention relates to gloves for the hands andmore specically to gloves worn as al protection for the hands when engaged in a sport or occupation 'that may have a tendency to cause chalingof .the skin Jby-the instrument or tool used in the game or occupation.
It is an object of my 4invention todevise Va-covering for ythe hands `that is comprised of a yminimum number offsegments. Y Y
Another object of my invention-is todevisea covering for `the .hands in which thev pieces of material comprising the glove are joined so that the seams come in a position that will cause the least annoyance to the user when engaged in the game of golf or occupation.
Another object of my invention is to devise a covering for the hands that is light and well ventilated and which can be worn in warm weather without discomfort.
Another object of my invention isto devise a cover- `ing for the hands wherein the pieces comprising the glove y can be cut from material in such a way that a minimum of waste results.
" Another object of my invention is t devise a cover- `ing for the hands that has a minimum number of seamsV between the pieces comprising the glove and thereby requires the minimum amount of etort and time to assemble the glove.
Other objects of my invention are to provide an improved device of the character described which is easily and economically produced which is compact in construc-v tion and which provides the maximum of protection to the hands of the user without Vcausing discomfort whileV the user is engaged in anoccupation or sport requiring hand manipulation of tools or clubs.
With the above and related objects in view, my invention consists in details of construction as hereinafter shall be described, the description will be more readily understood when the description is read in conjunction with the following drawings in which:
Fig. l is a plan elevational view of the back of a glove embodying lmy invention.
Fig. 2 is a plan elevational view of the palm of a glove embodying my invention.
Fig. 3 is an elevational view of the interior side of a segment of the glove that is used to form the outside of the thumb portion.
Fig. 4 is an elevational View of the interior side of a segment of the glove that is used to form the palm and fingers and the interior of the thumb of the glove.
Fig. 5 is an elevational view of the interior of a segment of the glove that is used to form the back of the hand and the back of the middle and ring linger of the glove. Y Y
Referring in greater detail to the drawings, I disclose a glove, generally designated as A, integrally united, that may be formed of a minimum number of segments, that may be formed of leather, chamois or fabric, land Athat may be economically and eciently produced.

Elastic strips 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 secured to the inside of the glove segments B, C, and D are utilized to give the glove a close secure lit around the wrist of theuser.
The back segment C and the back of thumb segment D have perforations 18 .therein to provide for ventilation of glove when the glove is used in warm Weather.
The glove as illustrated and described is for the left hand of the user, a glove for the right hand would be similarly fabricated and assembled. l
It is to be observed that in the embodiment of my invention,v as illustrated and described, that the device may be fabricated with a minimum number of parts from leather, chamois, and fabric.
Although my invention has been described in considerable detail, such description is intended as being illustrative rather than limiting, since the invention may be variously embodied, and the scope of the invention is to be determined as claimed.
I claim as my invention:
A glove comprising a palm segment, a back segment, and a posterior thumb segment sewn together, said palm segment having four edges including a finger edge, a wrist edge opposite said finger edge, an ulnar edge and a radial lateral edge, said finger edge having a plurality of finger portions consisting of a posterior little finger portion adjacent said ulnar edge, a front little finger portion adjacent said posterior little finger portion, a front ring finger portion adjacent said front little ringer portion, a front middle finger portion adjacent said front ring finger portion, a front index finger portion adjacent said front middle finger portion, and a posterior index finger portion adjacent to and intermediate said front index finger portion and said radial lateral edge, said wrist edge having a front wrist portion adjacent said ulnar edge, a wrist inset adjacent said radial lateral edge and spaced from said front wrist portion, and an interior thumb portion spaced intermediate said front wrist portion and said wrist inset, said back segment having a posterior finger edge, a posterior wrist edge opposite said posterior finger edge, a distal lateral edge, and a proximal lateral edge, said posterior finger edge consisting of a posterior ring finger portion adjacent said distal lateral edge, and a posterior middle finger portion adjacent to said posterior ring finger portion, said posterior thumb segment having upper and lower portions, said front little finger portion being sewn to said posterior little finger portion to define a little finger stall, said front index finger portion being sewn to said posterior index finger portion to define an index finger stall, said front ring finger portion being sewn to said posterior ring finger portion to define a ring finger stall, said front middle finger portion being sewn to said posterior middle finger portion to define a middle finger stall, said ulnar edge being sewn to said distal lateral edge, said radial lateral edge being joined to said proximal lateral edge, said upper thumb portion being sewn to said interior thumb portion to define a thumb stall, and said lower thumb portion being sewn to said front Wrist portion and said wrist inset whereby no stitching appears in the area where the wearer of the glove would grip a club or stick.
