Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. lVooL- UMS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented certain new andV keep a memorandum of supplies or com-A modities which are nearly exhausted for the purposes of making the proper purchases.

It will readily be seen that my invention has wide and Varied application, but in order to instruct those skilled in the art in the useof my invention, l shall describe it in its use as a household supply indicator.

ln addition to the broad feature of my invention whereby the keeping of a memorandum is greatly simplified, l direct attention to features of construction, to the end of simplicity and cheapness and to the end of securing a device of good appearance, and

have set forth these structural features which lend to these more specific results in the more limited of the appended'claims.

Broadly, my invention consists of a card or board which may conveniently be hung upon the wall, and which is provided with a plurality of indicators which may either be lodged within pockets in said card or board or may be drawn out to be exposed, and, if desired, to expose the name of some particular article or commodity.

In order to secure a structure which will be simple and inexpensive I construct a wall device which comprises one or more folded members, each of which is provided with a series of pairs of openings, and an indicator slide is mounted in each pair of openings so that it may be moved inwardly or outwardly in order to either conceal or expose the name of a commodity printed thereon.

In the form of my invention illustrated herein, I prepare two flattened tubular members 7, 7 by folding together the sheet of paper, or similar material, illustrated in Fig. 3. This sheet of paper is folded longitudinally on the lines 7, 7b, into the condition illustrated clearly in Fig. 2. It will'be noted that the sheet 7 is provided with a series of openings 8 and corresponding series of slots 9, the openings 8 occurringin a line in the face of one of the folds and the slots 9 occurring along the edge 7a.

A series of indicator slides 10, 10, one forv each pair of openings S, 9, is provided, these indicator slides being primarily part of the integral strip 11. It will be seen that the stamping, illustrated in Fig. A, is simply made and provides for the cutting of all the indicator slides for one row in a single operation, and the same may be said for the printing of these slides. The slides are then inserted in the openings 8, 9 down through the opening 8 and out through the slit or slot 9 so that each of the slides will be mounted in a pair of openings, as illustrated in dotted As will then be seen from Fig. 2, the slides 10 may be moved into and out of the tubular member 7 and it willl be noted that each of the indicator slides 10 is provided with a head 12 which is too large to passthrough the opening 8, and, thus, it is impossible to withdraw the indicator slide 10 entirely from the member 7. As will be noted in Fig. 2, two of these flattened tubu` larpmembers 7 are provided, one for each side, and they are secured yto afront piece k13 and a back piece 1A, by means of stitching 15, 15 and, if desired, the. front and back pieces may be provided with eyelets 16, by means of which the structure may be hung upon the wall.

As illustrated, each tubular member 7 is secured at one side of the front piece 13 so that the indicator slides 10 may slide into and out of a position behind the front piece, as illustrated in Fig. 1, each of the slides being provided with the name of a commodity thereon, as illustrated, and the corresponding name is printed upon the front piece opposite the point where the corresponding slide is to be withdrawn.

It will be noted that in normal condition the slides are all inserted and in this position they extend slightly beyond the side of the front piece, so that they may be readily grasped by ones fingers and Withdrawn into the oiitei' position. lfn the inner position, the printing on the slide is concealed and in the outer position, it is exposed, as shown in l.
