OTTO WIDEIVIANN, 0F DOUGLAS, DISTRICT OF ALASKA.
BOTTLE-GUARD.
'0 all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Or'ro WIDEMANN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Douglas, in the District of Alaska, have made certain new and useful Improvements in Bottle-Guards, of which the following is a specification.
My present invention relates generally to non-refillable bottles and more particularly to a guard located within the bottle neck and so arranged and constructed as to prevent the insert-ion of a tool or implement below the guard.
The specific means by which I accomplish this are shown in the accompanying drawing, in which:
Figure 1 is a vertical section through the neck of a bottle provided with my improved guard; Fig. 2 is a transverse sectional view therethrough, taken on line 22 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a similar view taken on line 33 of Fig. 1; and, Fig. 4 is a vertical section taken on line H of Fig. 1.
Referring now to these figures, A represents the neck of a bottle which, in accordance with my invention is provided with a guard located beneath the usual cork or other stopper A, this guard B consisting of an inclined web or diaphragm extending across the interior of a bottle neck, and which may be formed integrally therewith as illustrated. The guard B consists of a lower curved and inclined wall Z) and an upper substantially horizontal wall 6, the inclined connecting portion of the diaphragm or web between these upper and Specification of Letters Patent.

lower Walls being provided with an opening 6 formed in a direction substantially transverse to the axis of a bottle neck, the upper wall I) having an extending arched cap 25 which projects downwardly at an angle over the opening 6 and over the upper surface of the lower wall Z), the latter having a V- shaped rib 6 upon its said upper surface beneath the lower edge of the said cap. In
I provide for the ready discharge'of any liquid within the bottle and at the same time prevent the insertion of any tool or implement below the guard.
I claim A bottle provided with a relatively thin integral web or diaphragm extending within and diagonally across its neck and having a substantially central opening, the up per portion of the said web or diaphragm being provided with an integral cap depending in spaced relation over the opening and arched transversely across the said opening, the curved sides of the said cap being integrally joined to the web at the sides of the opening, and the lower portion of the web or diaphragm being provided upon its upper surface with an up standing V-shaped rib located at a point slightly below the opening and beneath the lower free edge of the cap, all for the pur pose described.
