-Letters Patent No. 109,712, dated November 29, 1870.
i IMPROVEMENT IN lRoNINGfBoARns. o
The Schedule referred to in these Lettere Patent and making part of 'the sme.
To all whom `it may concern.'
Be it known that I, JACOB H. BEIDLER, of Adrian, in the county ot Lenawee and State ot' Michigan,
have invented certain new and useful Improvements in I rolling-Boards and do hereby declare that the following' is a full, clear, and exact description thereof', reference .being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon maliing a part of this specilcation.
Ihe nature ot' my invention consists in the construetion and arrangement 0i' an ironing or skirt-b0ard,j
which can be fastened to any ordinary table and allow the skirt or other article to pass beneath the board.
In order to enable others skilled in the art t0 which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction and 'operation, referring to the annexed drawing, in which- Figure l is a bottom view of my ironing-board, and
Figure 2 is aside view, showing itattaehed toa table.
A represents an ironing or skirt-board constructed in the usual manner.
On the under side, at the broad end of the board A, is attached an L- shaped piece, B, the horizontal port-ion of which has one or more upward-projecting vpins or points a, as shown in fig. 2.
The ironing-board is attached to a table iu the mauner shown, the L- shaped piece B coming around the edge of the table, and the pin or pin's a penetrating into the table from below to hold the board, the board itself exterding above and across the table, and projecting beyond'the other end.
On the under side of the board, a suitabledistance from the piece B, is secured a bar or other device, C, which rests upon the top of the table, and acts.
as a fulcrum to hold or support the'board in proper position above the table. 4
Skirts or other articles may thus be ironed on the board and pass between it and the table.-
Having thus fully described my invention,
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Lette-rs Iateut, is-
The combina-tion, with the board A, of the stationary under L-shaped piece B and fulcrum C, all as shown and described. v
In testimony that I claim the foregoing, I have hereunto set my hand this 12th day of October, 1870.
JACOB H. BEIDLER.
