It consists of a wooden tablet, provided. with hinges and braces, and situated under the top plate of the bureau, or similar furniture.
In order to set forth said combination more fully, I
proceed to describe the drawing.
O -Q Figure 6 is a perspective viewof the tablet, with.
the brace open.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding part-s.
A is a wooden tablet, composed of two parts hinged together, with a suitable hole for an inkstand;
B is a hinge, by means of which the brace is fastened to the tablet.
O is the brace, made of wood or other suitable ma-. terial, and arranged as found convenient.

To use. it as a reading or music-desk, pull out the tablet A asvbefore, open the brace, but without swinging it around, and set the same asalready described.
Having thus described my invention,
I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentp The combination of bureaus, or similar furniture,
with the sliding table A A, with the pivoted hinges B and'tbe brace 0, arranged and operating as shown and described."
