To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, RICHARD IRWIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Farmington, in the county of St. Francois and State of Missouri, have invented new and useful Improvements in Fence-Posts, of which the following is a specification.
An object of the invention is to provide a fence post having embedded therein askeleton frame adapted to be partially covered with concrete, said frame constituting a reinforcement for the concrete and provided with grooves adapted to slidably receive a plurality of fence retaining means.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings constituting a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the skeleton frame of my fence post with suit` able fence retaining means adapted thereto.

Referring more particularly to the various views I provide a skeleton frame 10 preferably Ina-de of metal and consisting of a U-shaped body portion 11 having its outer ends thereof bent inwardly to form slides 12 as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. rI`he U-shaped body portion 11 is preferably constructed of two pieces of material having their inner ends connected by rivets 13 with one of the said inner endsextended beyond the point of connection and terminatin in curved .re inforcing flanges 14, the sai flanges being spaced apart and disposed in alternatin g fashion so that one of the said anges will extend outwardly from one side' of the skeleton frame while the next adjacent flange will extend outwardly from the other side of the skeleton frame as shown in Fig. 2. Although for the purpose of describing my fence post I have disclosed a particular construction of the same, it will be understood that this construction can be departed from without destroying the principle of the invention and it will be further understood that the scope of the invention is dei-ined in the appended claim.

what I claim as new, is
In a cement fence post, including a-skeleton box-like frame, comprising a pair of complemental' members having their body portions in parallel relation and having their rear edges bent into abutting relation and united, spaced fins formed upon the rear edges of each of said members, the fins of one member alternating with respect to the fins of the other of said members, the fins of said members being bent between the fins of opposite members so as to interlock said members, the ends of opposite lins being extended and adapted to lie adjacent and parallel with opposite surfaces of said post so as to reinforce the same, and fence retaining means disposed between said members.
