To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HARRY B. lVoR'rHING- rox, a citizen of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Card-Cases, of which the following is a specification.

One form of package for professional, business or visiting cards at present in wide use consists of a folding cover having a clamp and a pack of-cards gripped at one end by the clamp the cards being each perforated across its end so that one or more van be readily torn off when wanted. \Vhen such a card is torn off the severed end neces sarily presents a serrated, disfigured appearance not altogether pleasing to those who are fastidious as to such matters.

The object of the present invention is to provide a card case in which the cards are preserved in their prime condition and can be removed without any tearing or disfigurement whatever and the inventionis enibodied in the construction herein specifically shown and described and then pointed out in i the claim.

I propose to alternate the cards with slips of tissue paper as seen at let, said slips be ing somewhat longer than the cards so as to leave projecting ends through which the spurs 12 can be thrust when the clamp member 12 is turned down to grip the package of combined cards and slips. The function of the said spurs to retain the tissue \Vhen therefore a card is removed from the pack age no embarassment is occasioned by the necessity of disposing of the tissue slip. In

use the upper tissue slip or slips are merely turned aside sutiiciently to permit the taking of a card between the fingers, the card being then withdrawn without difiiculty.

The forms of the parts can be changed without departing from the gist of the invention.

What i claim is: H The combination of a. cover. a frame therein containing a spring a package clamping member to cooperate with said spring, said clamping member provided with a spur, and a package of cards with a protecting slip clamped between the clamping member and spring the protecting slip being engaged by said spur and retained thereby when a card is removed from the package. v
