CAROLINE PENDZIALEK, NEE FRANK, OF ALTWALTERSDORF, GERMANY.
SHOE-TACK.
Application filed April 24, 1913.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CAROLINE PENDZIALEK, nc FRANK, a subject of the King of Prussia, German Emperor, residing at Altwaltersdorif in the Kingdom of Prussia, German Empire, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in ShoeTacks, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a substitute for shoe nails which consists of a piece of sheet metal bent so that it forms three acute angles and having sharp points at one of the edges of its side parts.
The tacks are fixed in the sole to increase the durability of the same.
In the accompanying drawings the invention is shown by way of example.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a boot with the improved tacks inserted. Fig. 2 is a front view of the tack in natural size. Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the same.
The improved tack consists of a piece of sheet metal 1 which is bent at the middle so as to form an acute angle 2. The side parts have a few sharp points 3 as shown in Fig. 3 projecting from one of the edges. The

piece of sheet metal 1 is bent at the free ends so as to form two acute angles 4; and 5 (Figs. 2 and As shown in Fig. 1 the improved tacks when driven into the sole of the boot are securely fastened by the points 3 as well as by the acute angles 2, t and 5.
A sole fitted with these improved tacks will last much longer than a sole without the same.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is:
An improved shoe tack consisting of a piece of sheet metal bent at the middle at an acute angle and having its free ends bent at an acute angle, and points projecting from one of the edges of the side parts, substantially as described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two witnesses.
CAROLINE PENDZIALEK, Min FRANK.
