To all (U/(0H2, it may concern.

Be it known that I, N'inLs NIELSUN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Harlan, in the county of Shelby and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful linprovements in Fold-able Display-Boxes, of which the following is a specification.

This invention has for its object to provide a collapsible box which may be conveniently and economically manufactured of straw-board, paste-board or other similar material for containing mercluindise when exhibited for sale.

The invention. has reference to the particular way the material is bent to provide certain leaves or wings to form a container from two flexible sheets without waste of material, which will be collapsible for shipment with an original merchandise package, and extensible to contain the goods when ex hibited for sale.

The invention. consists of the novel construction, combii'iation and arrangement of parts as described herein and claimed, and as illustrated in the drawing, wherein,

Figure 1 is a bottom plan view of two connected flexible sheets employed to form the box. Fig. 2 is a partly broken front view of the box. Fig. 8 is a view of the same in transverse section. Fig. 4- is a perspective view of the. box, and Fig. 5 is a transverse sectional view of the device when the wings are folded.

Referring now to the drawing for a more particular description, numeral 6 indicates a substantially rectangular, flexible sheet which may be bent transversely at u a and 5 Z) at equal distances from its ends, to provide the back 0, the portions of the sheet outwardly of the part 0 being bent transversely at (Z (l to form the tongues or terminal clasp-members e and the intermediate portions f which provide the ends of the box.

llhile the box could be constructed by use of a single sheet, this would not be to advantage as it would result in a loss or waste of material; also since the sides 7 must be folded upon the back t. and interposed, between the back and. inclined wing j when the parts are collapsed, ready for shipment, as shown in Fig. 5. it is considered that the use of the strip 8 is necessary, and ordinary card board, straw board or paste board would become broken if the device was conlructed of an intc 'ral sheet.

Having fully described my invention, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is, i

A foldable display box comprising a first rectangular sheet bent transversely adjacent to its ends to provide a back, and two sides with terminal clasp-members; a second rectangular sheet secured at one of its ends to one of the longitudinal edges of the back and bent transversely at longitudinal intervals to form a bottom. an inclined Wing, an incised front and a sez-ondary bottom, the ineisions in the front of the box being traversed by said terminal rlasps; and a displayeard secured upon said inclined wine.

2. A foldable display box comprising a first reetangular sheet bent transversely at longitudinal intervals to provide :1 back and two sides with terminal clasp-members; a second rectangular sheet secured at one of its ends to one of the longitudinal edges of the back and bent transi'ersely at longitudinal intervals to form a first bottom, an inclined Wing, at front and a seeond bottom; means for securing said elaepanembers upon the front of the box; said second bottom being adapted to be disposed with its edges in engagement with the front, back and sides of the box above said first bottom.

3. A foldable display box comprising a blank of T-shape, one portion of which is creased to torm a central back section for the box proper, end sections at each end of said back section and securing tab sections at the outer ends of each of said end sections, and the other portion of the T-shaped blank being creased to form a bottom section which is connected with said back section along one edge thereot" said bottom section being of sueh length as to projeet eonsiderabty be yond the body of the box. an inelined wing section, and a front section having slits formed therein for the reception of said se curing tab seetions.
