Beit knownthat I, 'CHURCH TABOB, of Crafts- Vbury, in the county of Orleans and State of Vermont,

have invented certain newand-useful Improvements in Paper-Files; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact 'description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters 4of reference marked thereon which form `aV part of this specification.

The `nature ot mynvention consists in the construction of a bill orlle'tterffle from one piece of wire, as

will Ybe hereinafter fully set forth.

In order tot enable` 'others skilled in the art to whichmy invention `appertains'to make and use the same, I will now'proceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawings which represent a perspective view of my invention.

I vtakeda piece ot' wire, of suitable thickness, and bend one end in the shape of a' ring, a, for the purpose of passing a screw through the same.

The wire then passesv downward to l1, where it is bent to the right to c;

Here it is turned or bent back again to b, and as far yon the other side thereof to (l, where it is again bent back to b, and passes over or above this .bend forward at iight angles for a'suitable distance, when its end, e, isv bent upward and pointed.

It will bc-seen that from c to d the wire is double,

and this double portion is, furthermore, bentl slightly concave from the back. The portion of the wire from the ring a to the bend b Iis also bent concave from the back, so that when a screw-is passed through the ring a and screwed into the desk or wall, or other suitable place, only three .points will touch the same, namely, thel ring a and the points c and. d. The screw beingA tightened or screwed firmly in the i-le, is held securely in place.

Having thus fully described my invention,

A paper-file, constructed of one piece ot' metal or wire, so bent as to form the arms llc, loop a, and prong e, substantially as described. y
