To all whom t may concern.' Y l Be it known that I, ALFRED W. GREGG, a citizen ofthe United States of America, residing at Phoenix, in the county of @Maricopa and Sta-te of Arizona, have invented certain new and useful Improvements' in Molding Apparatus, of which the following is a specification. l
The present invention relates to molding apparatus for erecting walls, ceilings, floors, and the like, and has for its purposes to provide an apparatus of that character which may be readily assembled and disassembled progressively as the work is carried on, to the end of economy in providing the equipment and cheapness in erecting buildings.
The invention further proposes an apparatus of the character in question which will leave a true wall when the parts are disassembled and one wherein the outer surfaces of said walls need not be worked upon after the molding apparatus is removed.
It is further proposed to provide a mold adapted to receive, during molding operation, reinforcing elements to be embodied within and form an integral part with the wall structure.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel details of construction and combinations of parts more fully hereinafter disclosed and particularly pointed out in the claim.
Referring to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, in which like numerals designate like parts in all the views, Figure l is a transverse sectional view of the apparatus as arranged for erecting a wall; Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the same; F ig. 3 is a transverse sectional view of the molded structure taken on the line X-X of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a detail showing a modication of the apparatus shown in Fig. 4.
Referring to the construction in detail, W indicates the wall to be erected from concrete or other plastic material, and which is built up between the sections of the apparatus, this apparatus consisting of similar. side sections 1 that may be of any appropriate dimension,but preferably such as will adapt the same to be readily handled by manual labor alone. In the course of assembling the mold sections l, the initial series are held incorrect alinement through the medium of a suitable base having side portions 5.
In the course of construction, the wall W is designed to be reinforced at certain intervals by plugs 6 which constitute spreaders or spacing members for the sections. Each of these spreaders consists of a plug or core 6 that is reinforced throughout its length by means of twisted wires or rods 7 whose ends, during construction, are exposed beyond the mold sections, but which are trimmed smooth or flush with the wall surface after the mold sections 1 are disassembled. Said twisted wires or rods pass entirely through the spacing member, the walls of the sections, and through the terminal flanges of the members 2.
In carrying out the erection of a wall, it is proposed to use the apparatus after the manner of constructing courses, that is, the several parts are placed for erecting a wall suflicient to raise the building the height of one story and which, after the plastic lling has become sufficiently hard, are removed to be again erected on a new course, namely, that of the next superposed story, etc.
The parts 2 are designed to receive the assembling clamps 3 which, with the wedge blocks 4, secure the parts together after the manner indicated in Fig. 1.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, it will be readily apparent that this apparatus, which employs a minimum number of parts, and which are simple in construction and easy of assembling or disassembling, will enable the construction of an ordinary building. thus materially curtailing the cost of this important art. And it is further submitted that the apparatus is of such a character that it will readily suggest itself for adoption by builders generally.

rangement of parts without departing' from the spirit of my invention, and therefore I do not wish to be limited to such features except as may be required by the Claim.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
A molding apparatus comprising; similar sections having' angularlv disposed abutting portions provided with oppositely directed terminal flanges: clampingY blocks for said edges provided with T-shaped .slots to receive said abutting portions, and the terminal flanges: wedges fitting; between said blocks and the abutting' portions of the sections, spacing members fitting within said sections transversely of the mold and between said abutting` portions: and twisted tie rods passing through said members, the mold sections, and the terminal flanges thereof, said tie rods adapted to hold the mold sections against the spacing members, and said spacing' members and the tie rods providing reinforcing members for the finished molded structure.
