CARLO ISIDOR, F ROME, ITALY.
VEHICLE WITH CELLULAR PARTITIONS, BOXES, 0R DRAWERS WHICH ARE LET SEPARATELY FOR THE CONVEYANCE 0F GOODS.
To all whom it ma comm Be it known that I, OAnLo Ismon, station-master, a subject of the King of Italy, residing at Rome, in the Kingdom of Italy,
have invented a new and useful Vehicle with Cellular Partitions, Boxes, or Drawers WVhich are Let Separately for the Convey- 'ance of Goods, of which the following is a in them the goods to be forwarded, whereupo the user himself can shut up the box by means of any secret lock of his own. The difierent consignees, who previously have been acquainted with the way of opening the secret look, upon producing the hire ticket bearing the number of the box, are al lowed access to the vehicle and may take possession of the goods contained in the hired box.
The chief aim of this new system of forwarding goods is that of eliminating for the hirer the inconveniences arising in the case of ordinary transports by reason of the necessity of writing out the bills of freight, by reason of the delivery, of the reception &c. Consequently, great losses of time as well asthe expenses incurred in connection with the packing and fitting up the parcels and packages to. be dispatched are avoided. Further advantages arise for the hirer in that the boxes are merely ac cessible to the registered dispatcher and consignee, and that the timeof arrival of'the matters to be forwarded may be exactly determined in advance.
In the annexed drawing is represented by way of example a vehicle with cellular partitions according to the present invention. There are provided three scafiolds, namely two lateral ones and a central one, which are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. Each scaffold is formed of several series of boxes partitioned in cells Specification of Letters Patent.

immovable boxes provided with covers and secret looks, or they may consist of simple frames of structural iron suitable to take up movable boxes or drawers which at will may be fastened by the aid of strong closing means provided with secret looks; but the said scaffolds may also merely consist of sheet iron plates riveted or soldered, or lastly they may be made of any other material suitable for forming a cellular partition for stationary boxes or drawers.
In the annexed drawing is represented a vehicle having at one of its ends a platform +a which by means of a sliding or a leaved door -bcommunicates with the interior '-c of the vehicle, where on the right, on the left and in the center are disposed the scaffolds -cZ-.
Figure 1 represents a longitudinal section of the body of the vehicle taken on line l lof Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a horizontal section taken on line 22 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 is a cross section on the w-m of Fig. 2.
The scaffolds d are formed of several series of boxes 6 e e superposing each other, made of any suitable material, and each provided with independent locking means accessible only through the door 6 leading into the compartment. Scaifolds (Z are also formed of a plurality of superposed cells f f,, f, formed of'any suitable material and disposed near the sides and in the center of the compartment of the vehicle. The cells are provided with openings accessible from the interior of the compartment only, through the door I).
