FREEZER-HOLDER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed March 25, 1912.
Patented Sept; 9, 1913;
Serial No. 686,214.
To all whom it may concern:
lle it known that I, Join: H. CROW'ELL, a citizen of the United States, residing in Vineyard Haven, in the county of Dukes and State of h lassachusctts, have invented a new and useful l reezer-I-Iolder, of which the following is a specification.
The purposes of my invention are to provide an apparatus for holding the freezer stationary while being operated, and at the same time admit of free access to the freezer when adn'linistering the freezing material.
These purposes I accomplish by the new and novel. construction, combination and arrangen'ient of parts hereinafter described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1, is an elevation of an entire holder as it appears with its toggle jointed lever shut together holding the freezer stationary, and Fig. 2 an elevation of the togglc jointed lever of the holder open.
Similar numerals indicate similar parts throughout the drawings.
Referring to the drawings, my freezer holder consists of members 1, 2 which while in use for the purpose herein specified are nonseparable and connected to members 3 and el, all of which when connected are of any convenient form, in the present instance I have shown them as rectangular. The pivot 7, and members 8, 10 and 11, constitute a vertical toggle jointed lever its lower end, or foot 12, is of concave form to fit over and rest on the convex top center (3, of the freezer 5, which stands on and is supported by member 1. The upper end of the toggle joii'ited lever is of any convenient form to lit up against the lower or under side of member 2, which serves as a thrust block, in the present instance said end is convex. Holes 13, in members 11 and 10, and notches l t, in, the lower end of member 10, and foot 12, bolted together with bolt 15, are for the purpose of adjusting the length of the lever.
Member 8 is the lever arm of the toggle jointed lever. When said lever is placed between the top of the freezer and under side of member 2, and shut together said lever arm 8, is held secure against the check or stop 16, by pin 9, as shown in Fig. 1,- and with members 10 and 11, together are held in one and the same vertical longitudinal axis or plane, now in the operation of shutting together the lever, said lever is made longer than the normal distance between the top of the freezer and member 2, thereby creating sulliciont pressure on the freezer to accomplish one of the purposes of my invention, that of holding said freezer stationary while being operated.
The vertical toggle jointed lever of the freezer holder when in use as shown in Fig. 1, having so small a cross section at right angles to its longitiulinal axis, admits of free and easy access to that portion of the freezer forming the receptacle for the freezing material, thus accomplishing the addi tional purpose of my invention.
llaving thus described my invention I claim:
1. A freezer holder comprising a supporting member for the freezer, a thrust block member located above the freezer said members being nonseparable, a toggle jointed lever ogeratively to contact with and adapted to exert thrust against the top of the freezer and the under side of the thrust block member above the freezer, and an operable toggle lever arm adapted to be held with the lever in one and the same vertical longitudinal plane or axis substantially as and for the purpose herein specified.
2. A freezer holder comprising a supporting member for the freezer, a thrust block member located above the freezer said members being nonscparable, an adjustable toggle jointed lever operatively to contact with and adapted to exert thrust against the top of the freezer and the under side of the thrust block member above the freezer, and an operable toggle lever arm adapted to be held with the lever in one and the same vertical longitudinal plane or axis substantially as specified.
